C) For the love of God I can not get my resistances up high enough. It's really starting to bug me

In poe.trade, when I search for gear, I like to make use of the filter groups. My first group is usually a must have mod, like +life (as well as attack speed on gloves, movement speed on boots, etc).
In the second group, I'll use pseudo total resistances to filter out low res gear.
I might make a 3rd group and make use of 'Count' to get some good mods to further filter the results
Possibly a 4th group with 'Not' to filter out items I definitely don't wont.

Are you using a build guide or setting up the passive tree on your own with no help is how the question should have been phrased. If it's by yourself then toss the name of your primary account listed on the forum and make sure your profile is set to open not private via the forum and we can look up your toon. I must've missed the character tab yesterday because I can definitely see your character now. I'm away and using my phone so not the best time to analyze a build but I took a quick look and here's my thoughts:

You are in Standard league. Trading in Standard sucks as far as I'm aware. You will have trouble trying to buy gear. Edit: selling low-mid gear to make currency will be nearly impossible.

Too many different skills. You want 1 or 2 main skills (one for clearing, maybe one for bosses), 1 or 2 aura, 1 movement skill. Maybe an aura and maybe a Cast on damage taken (Cwdt) + immortal call setup.

Following a build guide is the easy way. Otherwise you are looking at a lot of trial and errors and using a lot of Orbs of regret.

Again, I could go in a lot of detail but I'm on my phone . I did try to message you in game yesterday but you were afk. I could jump on standard and help you gear up if you want.

Edit: More thoughts.. You need at least a four link for your main skill (sunder?). I actually levelled using Sunder myself this league. I had faster attacks, fire damage, melee phys linked.

Flasks: 1hp, 1mana (if needed), onslaught flask (silver?), crit flask (diamond), and a quicksilver flask.

I'm not sure how to make currency. Every time I sell something to the vendor, they give me worthless items like alteration shards which i never use.
What skills should I be looking for? I only use hp flasks because i take a lot of damage. I've never seen an onslaught, crit or quicksilver flask.

Do i get a get out of jail free card aside from using orbs that allows me to completely refund my points? Sounds like my skill tree is borked.

Only when GGG makes changes to the skill tree/does balances changes I believe, so not for a while yet. You would have to spend Regret orbs.

As for making currency: 1. Pick up currency in the zones. 2. Sell items to other players (nearly impossible on Standard league until you get to endgame items). Selling items to vendors gives you almost nothing.

I would say you have two options:
A)Make a new character in Incursion league. It's where most of the players currently are. You can actually buy/sell stuff with some effort. I'll buy you leveling gear for whatever class/build you want to do and you should be able to get to the level you current character is quite fast.

B)If you want to stick to Standard, I can jump to Standard league and see what I have left. I gave away most of my stuff except just enough to keep one character geared I should still be able to help you gear up.

To kill quickly, you need to link you main skill, Sunder in this case, with support gems. Support gems are typically damage multipliers and modify the skill in some way which increasing the mana cost.

SC or HC? Great gear helps to have better results in the game. Do you ever think about buy poe orbs?
On mmoauctions, you can search for everything what helps you be pro as fast as it is possible and when you get bored you can also sell your staff very easy.

Time to grind maps and build up currency then. The boring part where the next item you need costs dozens of exalts.

that's the thing - getting the 6L chest and another Shimmeron wand bumps up my DPS, but not my life expectancy. I think I need to bump up the quality of my jewels and gets some additional % to maximum life

I took a look at your character btw . Hope you don't mind me suggesting some changes

Why run Summon Skeleton + Portal + Faster Casting. I'm sure you can fit in something else. You're already running Cwdt+IC setup, a minion, move skill and an auro, I think a 2nd Cwdt setup with phasing and a vaal skill like Vaal Haste could work better.

For your Minion setup, get rid of Brutality and Minion life support. A possible change is Stone Golem + Decoy Totem + Faster Casting + Minion & Totem Resist Support. And you need to 20% quality that golem you already have with recipe (to get 20% inc. life on it).

Also 20% quality your other gems. I noticed quite a few sitting at level 20% and no quality. To do end game, you definitely need the quality on them.

Corrupt your level 20 Wrath. No risk, no rewards .

3-link your 2nd wand and instead of added chaos damage, add faster casting and a culling strike support to your Flame Dash (and quality it! ).

Get new gloves. +28 life is just too low. You should be able to pick up gloves with 80+life and 70%+ resists for less than 10 chaos.

Same for boots. +7 life Time to upgrade. Search for +60life, 30%move and 60%+resist. Should again cost you less than 10 chaos.

The Helmet!!! Destroy it Get a rare helm with life and resists if needed or get a good unique one like a Devoto's.

Also, when upgrading gear, keep in mind Wise Oak if you want to go for that. I guess with Mind over Matter, you also need to be careful of your life:mana ratio (I think?).

For flasks, I noticed you have Rotgut, just buy a normal high level Quicksilver, make it 20% qual, and then roll the mods until you get something like increased duration, remove curse, remove freeze etc. I roll my flasks every league myself, it's cheaper than buying premade flasks and only takes a few minutes.

You should definitely be running Diamond and Silver flasks as well.

Belt can be upgraded as well. 80 life is good but I'm sure you can get lots more for less than 10 chaos. Also, there are plenty of affordable Stygian belts on sale. Dunno how much a abyss jewel will help your build though.

A minor point but you should have a 2nd set of weapons equipped with extra gems getting leveled there. (Although leveled gems are overall pretty cheap this league because of temple drops).

Edit: And I guess start saving up because a 6-link Mantle and a 2nd Shimmiron will probably cost over at least 7 exalts total.

Edit 2: Quality your gear as well! Every little helps and whetstones and armorer scraps are worthless anyways.

edit 3: I forgot to take a lot at your amulet and 2nd ring. But after taking a quick look.. need life!

Thanks. Honestly, a lot of those gems are socketed and never used. I've been meaning to upgrade the quality on gems - just haven't gotten around to it to be honestly. My Arc is at 14% IIRC, but corrupted I should probably ditch that and get a 20/20 one ASAP.

I've switched over to SSF and probably won't be coming back. I log into Incursion once a day to run my daily missions (just in case I return) but I'm really enjoying SSF and making do with just what I find. One frustrating thing-I found a pretty good 6L level 55 chest armour, but it's corrupted and 5G1R. I have no idea what I'll use it for.

I've anyone wants to be guild leader let me know (PM me here) I may just end up resigning from the guild and dumping that honor on the next most senior person. Be forewarned!

The game has way too much power creep. I can't bare to level another toon to 70+ where the real game begins. I sure hope D4 is in development and they don't screw it up. D3 gameplay is far superior (in my opinion) to POE. But PoE has far better trading, which ultimately makes it a better game, I think.

My dream game is having trading like POE, robust crafting and gameplay somewhat like D3, except a larger meta, or meta capable 4 man, and for GR's to scale less ridiculously (17% mob HP per GR) and remove some of the fishing required. One can only dream... But watching someone burn 1,000 keys they didn't earn to get a perfect mob and pylon count and placement to get a GR 5 levels higher than what they can consistently do is really stupid to me.

How are we suppose to know if it's going to be tiring and boring to you after awhile? =]
Download and play it, it's free. If you don't like then no cost to you but you're free time. If you want an in depth loot driven arpg then this is the best.

I ended up killing Uber Elder deathless first try. Watched a couple of videos before hand to give me an idea and things went pretty well. Got a super shitty Watcher's Eye as a result.

I hit my 34 challenges for my totem and I'm not going for 36. The mtx portal is fugly. Which means I'm going to collect items for my super party and then dump everything into the stash. If anyone wants in on the party let me know. I think I'm going to run it next Friday night.
