Yeah I'm mapping.

Who did I play with the other day? I hate I can't match names between ATOT and POE. Regardless, thank you for your help with a few of the maps. And thanks to whomever is dropping junk in the guild stash. I've taken some of it - sold some of it, used other stuff.

That was me. I'm seeing +2 cold gem 6 link staffs for 25-30c assuming you don't need any other stats on it.


Running a RF chieftain this league. He's been going through everything super easy. I ran a Beachhead tier 12 map last night and it was a breeze. I could probably AFK a tier 10 map, just stand next to the portal. The huge life regen also makes uber lab super easy. I'm sitting at about 1300 life per second net regen.

Yeah there are some cheaper staffs at 30-40C. I'd like to get some solid other mods on it as well (spell damage, cold damage etc)
There's a decent one listed right now for 150C. Damn work!

Then again, I might try to hold out for an actual Taryn's Shiver Maelström Staff

There are a lot of youtube videos out there on how to level quickly. Most of it is just learning the original story and knowing where to go. I generally knock out Acts 1-10 in the first evening of a new league. It might take me 8 hours or so. That's not particularly fast, but my best PoE racing days are in the past...

It's mostly picking what maps you enjoy, but a lot of people are shaping Racecourse maps even though they aren't great because of triple boss. So pick maps that fit your build. There's also some strategy in it if you are looking to use sextants or looking to block out maps. I haven't done anything with this, but you can check out youtube for some pretty good Atlas guides.

I like simple straight layouts with good mob density.

Depending on how you play shaping past lower tiers may not be that big of a deal or intended. Some people like to play all maps and up their atlas count. Some people will do all the lower maps to get the number up a bit and then stop unlocking at around tier 10 and only unlock select maps to control the drops they get.

For example, not unlocking any tier 11 map and shaping spider forest. Only unlocking vault for tier 12, scriptorium for tier 13 and shrine for tier 14. These are selected because they all have very good divination card drops compared to the other tiers.

Yes, up to tier 10 (upgrades to tier15) . Multiple tier 8/9/10 shapers orbs exist as well (the extras come from unique maps and vaal temple)

Failed on uber atziri and on Shaper this weekend... Trio got me twice and then I was being killed while dodging blasts in the Atziri portion... Ill have to put lockstep on and plug into my router to do these fights in the future... Was pretty upset about the Shaper fight since I did it a day or two ago deathless, but he just wasn't where I was attacking most of the time so my leech didn't work. Made the fight impossible...

Sextants -- use them? Not use them? Where and how to use them?
and if I use them, does that mod remain on the map if I drop an alch orb on the map too? Or is the idea that the sextant mod "replaces" the need for alchs on maps?

Sextants don't replace alch. Basically a sextant adds some mods to all maps within a certain radius for a limited number of plays. You can have mutliple sextants affecting a map through overlaps. Sorry if this info is a bit sparse, I tried them once and felt they weren't worth the bother.

Ok so that's what I figured. So you can get the Sextant mod AND the mods applied via an alch. I just didn't know if one superseded the other or something.
I have a bunch of sextants so maybe I'll drop them on the maps and get that bonus mod.

I vaguely recall from before a certain staff/axe/something that allowed for faster gem progression? You'd carry it offhand and toss in the empower/enhance/enlighten gems to level them up more quickly?

I think that's what enlighten used to do. I don't believe anything does that anymore though I could be wrong...

That's correct. It was changed in 2.0. The gems gain 5% increased exp per quality level so even just a few gcp make a big difference.

Huh? So each 1% in quality, the gem gains XP 5% faster?
So those Gemcutter Prisms are fairly important then, huh?

One of the NPCs you can summon to your hideout sells those weapons, Haku the armor master. He sells weapons that are named Haku's XXX sword or axe or whatever. The Haku mod gives an experience bonus to gems that are socketed into the weapon. I believe the best rolled Haku mod is equivalent to 6% quality, letting you have 26% total quality. You put it on your weapon swap and just let it sit there and level the gems.

I used +4 Empowers to make a ton of currency the last time I played a POE league. Got to max level and then got a 6 socket haku axe and stuck 6 Empowers in it and leveled them to 3. Then Vaal them all and sell the +4s for a ton of currency. RNG dependent as a successful +4 Vaal is a 1 in 10 chance, and you only get 6 attempts at a +4 after leveling them to +3, which takes quite a while. But it was pretty lucrative.

I didn't bother with this league. Just leveled up to the see the new acts and then stopped. I don't have the time right now for a POE league.

How long did it take you to level 3 the empowers? Did you quality all of them?

It's a bit longer than leveling a gem to level 20 twice. A normal gem will take about 340m exp to get to level 20. A quality 20 empower in a 6% Haku weapon would take 724m exp. If you bought level 2 uncorrupted gems it would knock that down to 626m exp.

Got to 94 last week. The new content makes this the best mapping league ever. Previous league I sustained at around tier 9 or 10. This league I have 14's 15's and 16's regularly. Dropped two Xoph amulets in the past two days but got caught holding a lot of chaos when exalts doubled in price over the past two days... Really unfortunate...

Definitely agree with the mapping, the new support gems and the buffs to them and old ones is opening up a lot more combos for skill gems+support gems.
I bought 13 exalts at around 45 chaos, now they are 90+- so yeah I am rather happy
I am spending a small fortune trying to roll a 400 dps Phy Harbinger bow, but I know that it will be all worth it when its done.
Spent around 5000+ Alterations, not counting the Augmentation, Alchemy, Chaos and Scour orbs.
On my third Character and recently hit 91, Raider, TS hitting 90k-95k per projectile (gmp so 5 projectiles) and thats on a 300 dps Phy Harbinger bow
Sitting on 14 Pure Exalts, and other currency at the moment.

I have a few upgrades I can do in equipment (still need my 6L end-game staff)
Still have to do the last 2 labs so I guess that will help (assuming I can make it through)

I have't done all the conversion math, but does it make sense to buy orbs from each of the Masters daily? Is that better pricing to "upgrade" your orbs than on the market? I'm hesitant to transfer Chaos for Chisels.

There's some pretty cheap BiS gear this league you might be able to pick up. Don't forget flasks as well, those can really make a huge difference in your build if you're not using certain ones. Lab as well can really make a difference, especially 4 points to pretty much every build. You should be able to run them yourself, if not, merc lab should be simple for any level 80, and you can have someone run your offering for free just let them have the loot.

Concerning buying master currency, I've been buying Jewellers from Haku for alterations. With all the extra affixes added into the game, I've only been crafting jewels and flasks which don't take much. Jewellers also fund the fusings from Vorici. Definitely buy fusings every day. It's typically 4:1 but it's 64:20 (3.2:1) with the daily. This late in the league selling fusings are the easiest way to make money.
