You're definitely being handicapped by not completing lab. You're missing out on Conviction of Power and Ritual of Awakening. Ritual of Awakening is the whole point of going Hierophant. Conviction of Power is another big DPS upgrade because generating power charges through Orb of Storms in a fast moving totem build isn't reliable. CoP gives you very good uptime on power charges.

Dump those 2 4% life/armor nodes on the bottom left and pickup the jewel slot near the Devotion node. You can buy a 7% life/5% freeze jewel for just 2-3 chaos and you could probably find one with 1% block on it for the same price. 10-12c will get you one with crit chance. All the mentioned changes will net 30% more damage. Also, since you're using cold and you have cold as you're highest uncapped resist you should buy a Wise Oak flask. That will net you 10% more damage on top of the other changes. I'd also suggest buying Rumi's since you can block. It's a big defense upgrade.

These are all good notes @rstrohkirch . I actually just had a great jewel drop the other day - +life% and +cold damage. So I was planning on reworking my tree a bit to utilize it.
I plan on running through the lab(s) too to get my extra nodes - just LOATHE the labs so I admit I have been avoiding it like the plague.

Killed Shaper for the first time ever this past weekend. Ran 7 sets, got 4 gloves, a pair of boots, and two starforges. Gave the girlfriend the better-rolled starforge and 6 linked a Belly of the Beast for her and she is leveling a Slayer now.

My main remaining goal for the league is to kill uber atziri. I think I can do it.

My ED trickster is level 94 now, with 10250ES and 125k tooltip on my Essence Drain (230k path of building real dps on Shaper) and I don't really have any upgrades left to get.

Got Uber Atziri down this past weekend. Of course just got a Vertex.

Farmed some Uber Lab with the gf, she hit 2 secondary tornado shot projectiles on a starkonjas. It is now the most valuable item I have ever owned (more than my 6L Shavs or her 6L Belly)

The most popular setups include PCoC, Increased Critical Strike Chance, a CoH setup, and/or Arcane Surge. OoS is just a utility, so if you don't have a need for it, drop it for something that's better for your build.

Yeah -- I was running a PCoC combo, but now with my ascension I don't need to get the power charges via OoS so I was looking for something else. I tossed Assassin's Mark on there and it seems decent.

I'm guessing I will fire up a toon again. Had fun in the last league. I don't follow what is "new" in each league so I'll just jump in and start playing blindly - that always works out well, right?

Have you done magma orb totems? Or maybe a shockwave totem build? There's also a summoner build that uses those totem summoners from act 6 that seemed pretty strong.

Haven't done any of those.
There was a cool video I watched where all the monsters were drawn to the totem and then killed. Crap forget what it was.

Honestly, I don't think I've every made it to "End Game" content.I make it to high 80s (92 once!) but can never kill/complete high level bosses. Map level 13 or so.

That's because you keep going totems

If you really want to keep totems then try chieftain this time instead of hierophant. Not always the fastest but very tanky, totem based and you'll get to experience more end game content.

Or perhaps try a zombie build instead.

I'm not really complaining about not getting to end game content. I like my totems as they play well into my "old-man-slow-twitch" gameplay style.
If there's something "end-gamey" that lets me play "easier" like totems, I am ALL EARS.

I'm actually quit sick of the stupid Templar....

Look up some videos on Chieftain or Berserker ancestral war chief or flame totem builds. See if they look interesting. The Marauder class totem builds are a lot better at surviving than the Templar setups. You'll get farther in the game with less effort on these builds.

I may use one for my starting character the next league.

Am I missing something? Sometimes there are not troves at the end of a rift. I follow it until the end -- in fact the rift even is "sealed" Do you have to do it in X amount of time or something? Or are there rifts with no loot at the end?

What I've noticed is sometimes there is a trove/chest (with usually some nice stuff in it), less often there is an opening to an abyss-another level with a timed boss fight at the end-also a good loot and experience area, and sometimes neither. I'm personally liking the abyss system a lot-its doable and no big lags when it starts.

Got to tell a league story. I happened to get home early Friday so I thought I'd try the league from the start. Logged on at 3:30PM (league starting at 4), massive 4.XX gig download starts, finally get to play about 4:35. Start a character, go to the first town and there are at least four toons wearing tabula rosas ALREADY. Off course there are frequent announcements that XXX is the first player to reach level 56, etc. Very discouraging.

No one was level 56 35 minutes in. That's more like 3 hours into the league. Also, the Tabula thing is possible, but unlikely. I know some people who found one day one, but it's super unlikely there would be 4 of them in the first town area.

I had an amazing first hour and a half. I was within a few levels of the leaders. Molten strike ancestral call is super overpowered. Then my friend who was leveling using ice shot asked me to help and we slowed down significantly. I crushed maps Saturday and Sunday to get to level 83 but I haven't dropped anything. I seriously only have 40 chaos and that's with selling about 10 1 chaos items... Meanwhile my brother has been through about 4-5 exalts worth of drops already.

I don't like Abyss very much so far. It causes a lot of backtracking and my drops have been awful. Generally I drop about 1 valuable item a day if I run 40-50 maps. So far I've dropped nothing even with about 15 of the new Abyss area full clears.

I'm also stuck running T3 and T4 maps. I can't get high enough to run the new Shaper/Elder content. Making me miss Harbinger league terribly.
