Had this drop for me yesterday. I don't really understand it's mechanics, but it sure lists for a lot. Probably the most expensive thing I've ever had drop. Granted it hasn't sold yet, and probably never will.

Whatever it was, sold it for 2E this morning so that was a nice drop. At this point, I don't have much more equipment to buy. Any upgrade is of nominal return (but MAJOR expense)
Beat Red Elder without dying so that felt good.
Not sure how I'm supposed to lure Elder to the center of the Atlas. Does he have to have influence on all 4 corners? (phoenix, Minotaur, hydra and whatever the 4th one is called?)

For the quest line you need to kill the 4 guardians next then Shaper. To spawn uber elder you need to get Shaper presence onto the guardians. From there you do all the guardians to spread the elder influence to all 4. Then you kill them all again because now they'll be the Elder guardians. Finally, you'll be left with Uber Elder on Shapers realm.

well I was just being a bit melodramatic with that comment. It really doesn't seem overly difficult to get it set up. I'd be running maps anyways.

Yeah that is/was my game plan. I gotta just avoid the 1-shot kills.

I just ran around and let the minions do everything.
I really suck at this game
My biggest problem against Uber Elder is getting 1 hit when he's doing the bubble thing. I dunno what it's called.

Kill Uber Elder with a non minion build... 😂 Far more nerve wrecking.
There are so many builds to try out. Try some deep delving bosses... Mastermind syndicate boss solo kill.. Etc.. Plenty to mess around with.

Yeah I know - it was more rhetorical
I'm going to keep dwelving (only at 280)
Certainly have a bunch of challenges to still knock out.

Speaking of which, how do you complete Complete the Domain of Timeless Conflict?

Think I'm up to 30 challenges now. Also a new record for me.

Question: When you're fighting Uber Elder and he does that grey "bubble" (not sure what else to call it) that slowly encompass the entire screen, what the hell are you supposed to do there? I keep getting 1-shot by at that phase. It's an instant death.

I've had a few lucky drops (Unnatural Instinct a few other pricey items) and I'm sitting on about 15+E now with really not too much to spend it on. I guess I could upgrade my chest piece again. I'm at 32 challenges and I think that is about as far as I'm going to get as the remaining are RNG and/or oddball encounters that I don't have the patients to attempt.

The safe place for that attack in is the very center of where he initially casts it. You will notice that there is no grey effect there and then you'll see a transition line where the effect starts and expands from. When he casts it you'll walk around him in circles as he'll melee attack if you're in arms reach or shoot his ice at you if you aren't. You'll also have to dodge Shaper's balls and beam as well. Just remember that you have a little bit before it explodes and before you need to actually stand in the safe area.

Also, I see you already hit 33 challenges. You should go for 34 for the better totem. Encounters 2 is very easy and you could do it in 10 minutes. You could honestly hit 36 because encounters 4 and encounters 5 isn't that hard.

I will have to look at them I guess more closely. I just hate the "defeat XYZ without ABC happening" challenges.

Thanks for the info on Uber Elder. Funny I never even noticed that "safe space" before. I was too busy trying to stay OUT of the bubble on it's edges and never thought to go TOWARDS the center. Will have to give that a go tonight.

Ok had another apparently very expensive drop this morning. But I don't quite get why it's such a hot commodity.
I tossed it in my default 2C tab. I planned on selling it for more, but before I could even adjust the price, I had a billion offers. Up to 4E. So I adjusted to 5E and still got spammed. 6E and got a bunch of offers. So I set it to 7E and then had to log out.

But looking at prices online, they don't list for much at all. What makes mine so special? What am I missing here?

just figured it out. Increased cold damage is what the kids want.
Any ideas on price tag?

It's the combination of cold damage and the buff effect. There are 5 possible explicits you can get on these types of rings and you got the 2 most desirable ones for the HoI ring. You also got a near top roll on the cold damage. I would put it up for sale for 10ex and work your way down .5ex over the next couple of play sessions. The cheapest listed that are similar to your ring are 8ex and 10ex. That implicit is a bit of wild card because if it were corrupted you could easily get 15 to 20ex for it. So you may get someone who just wants the ring or you may get someone who could blow 10ex on a whim to see if the corrupt holds.

I supposed there should be a new thread started for 4.0? Man what a crazy announcement and even crazier updates. Can't wait. Even 3.9 is a HUGE change.

3.9 is our first time using the new Atlas, poor Metamorph mechanic will get overshadowed by this, and descend into oblivion.
i dont remember...did they say the new Skill gem system will be integrated into PoE before 4.0? it makes sense because we'll need to get accustomed to it.

No - pretty sure the new skill gem system is 4.0 - along with new 7(?) acts.
New skill gem system should basically end up being like a whole new game. I'm especially interesting in making totems "smart" and allowing them to have multiple skills - cast curses and then primary attack etc.

New Atlas looks like fun too - I like how GGG basically took it and made it "our fault" (jokingly) with Zana saying "they just kept coming back over and over again - looking for more power" They called out the grinding and flipped it on us
