I was going to go miner again with glacial cascade but decided to play a zoom build. I very rarely play bow so I'm going to go with an ice shot deadeye this time.

Nice I was thinking of going Deadeye or Pathfinder myself, already did Pathfinder last league so leaning towards Deadeye. Just a little worried about how bossing will be with Ice shot. I really enjoyed bossing with Toxic Rain, bosses just melted.

Most of the videos I've seen lead me to believe that Ice shot readily freezes most bosses. I watched one video of someone doing The Feared challenge which is the 4 Breach bosses in the Maven challenge. This is a hard challenge and it took me a few goes last league to complete it. His Ice shot was freezing them to the point it looked easier than when I did it.

What dam a slow queue. I feel like the racers will be in Act 3 or 4 by time I manage to login.

Edit: Dam I was mostly joking but I just came back to PC and I'm still at 16000 in queue and on twitch some people are already half way though act 2.
Edit 2: Got in, killed hillock and tried to get into ACt 1 Town, kicked out and back in queue, 127771 ahead of me...
Edit 3: Not only are the servers crashing, rollbacks are happening. Lost a unique quiver that was in my inventory.

I got dced again lol. This will be 4th time I try to go through 'the prison' zone.
Edit: Dam dced again trying to enter next zone. One more DC and I'm done for a few hours.
Edit 2: Servers down for maintenance. This has to be worst league start in a while.

Had a pretty good weekend, even with not really playing Friday. Made it to level 87. I have unlocked all of the Uber Trials, and I've collected 7 watchstones so far. I think that's the furthest I've gotten on the first weekend. I have one exalt drop and one 100 Chaos sale. I've also gotten absolutely nothing from the new mechanic, but I'm not really able to crush through them yet.

Went freeze-pulse totems, and I'm on a 5-link Soul Mantle with junk gear. It's a comfortable build for me, but I would have done better with Ultimatum if I had gone CoC cyclone again

I've been pretty lucky this league so far in terms of drops. For the build, I stuck with the Ice Shot Deadeye. So far it's going pretty well but I'm curious how well it'll scale to end game even with video evidence. In yellow maps right now and it destroys screens so at least it's fun currently.

heard about the bumpy start to it all. That sucks especially when people sort of plan around these launch days. It's amazing how things can still be so bumpy. Sounds like they got it worked out now though for everyone.

I did read how streamers were apparently allowed to line-jump and skip to the front of the queues. That seems like really bad PR.

There were a lot of complaints about this... I don't really care unless there's a race at league start. It didn't really matter in the long run since no one really played much the first night.

I also don't care about the streamer expedited queue. But I do feel it was a questionable move because the PoE Reddit is full of man children. GGG should know by now that the first thing these people would bitch and moan about is special privilege and then the next being streamer rng. I like this game but it is still just a game to me and I think some of the people on Reddit need to move out whatever basement they dwell in. I'm going to guess that GGG thought the issues would be resolved relatively quickly but when they weren't.

I read several takes on the streamer priority and watched some vods that covered it. I can understand the sponsored streamers jumping the line. I do not understand the logic of letting non-sponsored streamers jumping the line.

To me, though, it was more about the streamer response. A few streamers in familiar with essentially reacted in disbelief and immediately asked to have their privilege revoked. A few streamers that I'm not familiar with laughed at their subscribers and talked about how they deserved to jump the line because they're better than the peons. One guy that I've watched for a while said he did have streamer privilege and maybe he shouldn't but he would wait to address it with GGG on Saturday. I think that was a super lame answer, I unfollowed him on Twitch and YouTube.

I think there's an algorithm that makes it more likely to find different trials... I think I've only had one league where I didn't find them naturally. Anecdotal evidence for sure, but it's all I have...

Just lucky - I'm at four but have had oodles of repeats.

Thanks rstrohkirch for your advice yesterday in-game. I'm mapping fine, build is literally a glass cannon but freeze is great defensively. I'm now running a very strict filter so I'm only stopping to pick up currency and 6 sockets. Was only dying in Ultimatums, mostly to too many rares, so I thought why not buy an Inspired Learning. I haven't died since I put it on except once in a Delirium Ultimatum. I'm seeing my DPS double inside Ultimatums because of Inspired Learning as well as around 500HP boost, sometimes even an extra 2-3k ES. I'm still running a Tabula, trying to save for a 6 link armor. Either I've had really bad luck or Ultimatum rewards are not that good. I'm completing every Ultimatum to its end and most rares are just junk. The NPC is currently very pissed that I'm not dying lol.

2. Are waypoint portals only in some maps? I'm spending a lot of time just running back to sell loot.
3. Is there a way to expand inventory? Can you rotate items to place them?
4. What's worth buying with real money?
5. I started off with a Templar, I've gotten items with green sockets but no green gems have dropped. Are the gems limited by class?
6. I got a book for regret and refund points but I'm not sure how these work. Are there certain passives you can't refund?

Skill gems will work in whatever armor/weapon slot you place them in as long as you meet the attribute requirements and don't have them linked to certain trigger supports (which are designed to cast the skill autmatically) Generally your main skill will go in your body armor with up to 5 supports or in a 2 handed weapon with up to 5 supports.

2. Are waypoint portals only in some maps? I'm spending a lot of time just running back to sell loot.

Some areas do not have waypoints, and you will need to use a portal scroll to return to town while keeping your progress in these areas.

3. Is there a way to expand inventory? Can you rotate items to place them?

There is no way to expand character inventory. You can purchase additional stash tabs to expand your stash.

4. What's worth buying with real money?

Only stash tabs. And I personally recommend the Map tab if you plan on playing the end-game seriously and a currency tab. Other than that you can really choose what you like (quad tabs are also great)

5. I started off with a Templar, I've gotten items with green sockets but no green gems have dropped. Are the gems limited by class?

Any gems can drop for any character. However, certain classes can only purchase certain gems from vendors until you do the library class in Act 3 or the quest in Act 6 (I cant think of the name for it...) Then you can purchase almost all gems from a vendor.

6. I got a book for regret and refund points but I'm not sure how these work. Are there certain passives you can't refund?

You can refund all passives, even ascendancy points (though its a little more complicated) You will occasionally drop Orbs of Regret that can be right-clicked to add a skill refund point. Just use them in your skill tree if you want to make changes.

Thanks. Figured out the gems part. The attack red gems only work in the weapon but the spell ones work in other items.
Something else popped up. I used ot bring up the overlay map with tab but now when I press tab it just toggles the minimap.

Nope, you can absolutely use red attack gems in non-weapons. It's super-routine to have your main attack skill in your chest no matter what you're using.

huh, that's odd. When I put skills in certain slots, they come up as This skill can't be used. I was looking at dual hand on a duelist and noticed some of the red ones not working if the other weapon was equipped. The skills will appear in the bar but be faded. I think one of the issue I was having before was having the gem in weapon that didn't support it.
