Absolutely not. I am entirely for this war and everything behind it, and support the troops more than 100%.

Unfortunately for whiny liberals who would like to smear offensive pentagrams all over a largely Judeo-Christian-based cemetary filled with sacred religious symbols, I do not support his wife's requests.

Offensive? It's his belief.

...How is this an argument? While obviously not on the same scale in reality, if my belief was to have symbols of chopped up babies hammered into my tombstone, would you still defend my right?

The fact that you believe the pentagram is some evil symbol shows how manipulated you've been.

No, not at all. Again, I don't know where you're pulling this from. It must be nice to be one of the few non-brainwashed independents among a bunch of sheep, eh? You're on a level so far above everyone else, I really envy you.

The pentagram is considered an offensive symbol in many religions (and even to some who are even not too religious, but maybe more spiritual than anything). Because you do not view it as offensive does not mean the rest of the world agrees with this, and in this case, there is most likely a large majority of people who support my point of view.

This is, however, leading right into another pointless flamewar where everyone comes in and attacks the different aspects of religion, so if you have nothing new to add, please refrain from beating the dead horse.

Yep, that's what they wanted on their tombstone... a symbol with chopped up babies hammered into it. Wow, are you really this stupid?

LOL man, that really is sad. Not sad for you, but to think that there are people like you around.

Sorry if my posts aren't as poignant as yours:

Wahh, the witch can't have a pentagram on his gravestone.

Nice job on not contributing to the thread or addressing my responses in any way. If you haven't anything to add, and are so amazed at my stupidity and how beneath you I am, why are you bothering to respond?

LOLOL please, what have you contributed to this thread? But a flaming comment, and telling everybody who have posted opposing views of yours to go somewhere else:

Now please go somewhere else with your attacking of anyone's patriotism and holier-than-thou spewing of the infamous "you sit back and watch while everyone else does the work" viewpoint.

This is, however, leading right into another pointless flamewar where everyone comes in and attacks the different aspects of religion, so if you have nothing new to add, please refrain from beating the dead horse.

So tell me, where is your great contribution to this thread?

Wow. I knew ATOT had degenerated a bit, and the entertaining liberals had mostly disappeared, but it's pretty sad when the best response I can get is "LOLOL please" and a reiteration of exactly what I stated in my previous post.

Suprising, too, from someone who's been around here as long as you have.

No, the pentagram is a symbol with a very long history. It has been displayed in countless different styles, by countless different peoples. It is considered offensive by christians because satanists appropriated the inverted pentacle as a symbol. The fact that many christians confuse the satanist pentacle with a wiccan pentagram is a display of ignorance, not belief.

Try reading this before shooting off your mouth, mr troll.

your posts lack substance and qualification, but you're really quite good at getting people all riled up for no reason.

Using the name of a fallen member of our armed forces for the sake of a catchy thread title is absolutely disgraceful.

"Freedom of Speech" means NOTHING to you, I guess.

We're supposed to have freedom of speech and freedom of religion in this country. As such, his grave, his tombstone, his choice of religious symbols.

Yes, it is necessary. As long as a narrow minded point of view is allowed to supplant The Constitution in an attempt to force their beliefs on the rest of us.
Judeo-Christianity is not the official religion of this country.
If you had read the article, you would see where Buddhist and even ATHEIST symbology is allowed on the memorial.
Wicca is NOT satanic worship, FYI. Of course, zealots need to have an "enemy" and the media have fed the line of BS of Satanic Cults so that the simple minded have somthing to fear. Wicca is more closely paralled with the relationship with the Earth and Nature than satan. It's belief that "god" or GAIA (the Earth Goddess) is what is holy.

What is unnecessary is your attack of his religious beliefs. Which, last I checked, he is free to practice, according to the CONSTITUTION that he died defending. You DO NOT have to agree with them, practice them or like them. But if you claim to be a "patriot" you MUST allow them to exist. If not, then you label yourself "unpatriotic" by your refusal to support and defend all aspects of The Constitution and The Bill of Rights.
The troops do not get to pick and choose which parts of The Great Documents they are killing to protect and defend , neither do I nor do YOU.
It seems as if he was American enough for his Commander and the rest of his troops (some of whom are undoubtedly "Judeo-Christian") to accept those beliefs.
It's unfortunate that your fundamentalist zealotry forces you to surrender your ability to reason, or have empathy for anyone who doesn't proscribe to your narrow minded views.
I didn't attack your patriotism any more than you attacked one of those "troops" you claim to support. I support them all, I do not pick and choose who are "better" than others, I guess, YOUR god (no caps because it is a lesser god) allows for that.

Until you're willing admit that you only support those troops that are Judeo-Christian and that "your" reason for this war is to promote Judeo-Christian intolerance, rather than the reasons of Democracy and PLURALISM as stated by the Commander in Chief, you taint those brave troops from behind the safety of the monitor with your vile and unpatriotic beliefs.
And yet, you are allowed to have them in MY United States. Too bad you don't return the favor to those who make it possible to have them.

edit: BTW, I know you've assumed I'm a "gasp" LIBERAL. That would be another incorrect assumption by you. I was conservative before the NEO-Cons put the "CON" in conservative. What I am however, is a tolerant conservative, something that went out of favor when intelligence was given up in favor for blind patriotism.

To OP: not funny :|

To those who really should take it to P&N: this what happens to those who confuse freedom with government subsidization. By your logic, the government subsidizes one so OF COURSE they must subsidize the other. The obvious result is lack of freedom for all.
