I'm not sure of the OP's implication anyways - Stewart's not as awesome if he were found to be gay - or that it's cooler to have a man crush on someone that's not gay because you don't look as gay when they are straight?

Let me clear this up. If you have a man-crush on someone that's straight, you still look gay.

However if you are actually a real man, one secure in one's own sexuality and confident in who you are, you don't give a fvck what it looks like.

Well I would be disappointed if Stewart was gay not that it matters, I'm not sure if I have any interest left in TNG. Maybe I'll watch the movies again someday but I don't miss that star trek franchise at all. But it would change things, I don't think Ellen Page will ever be a leading lady again... actually I'm not sure she ever was but I liked that roller derby movie she made.

I also am a big fan of Jeff Lewis of Flipping Out and he's the gayest i love you on tv. It's too bad they don't make that show anymore. But he's a house decorator not a star ship captain.

For whatever reason, I've never been able to get into TNG or any of the ones that followed.
I LIKE Star Trek...actually enjoy the "newest" generation of ST movies...IMO, they're pretty well done and the acting is decent, even if I don't think Chris Pike is the best choice for the part of Kirk.

TNG just seems even worse than the original Star Trek for scripts and acting.
