Of all the people I've ever known who contracted one of the more serious forms of cancer, ALL of them died from the disease, regardless of how aggressively they fought it.
Most of them were sickened by the radiation and chemo, many lost their houses trying to pay for the medical treatments, (even good insurance has limits to what they'll pay) and in the end, they still died of the same cancer.
My deepest condolences to the family of Patrick Swazey. He was a brave man who fought this insidious disease with all the resources he could bring to bear.
