I've had one for about 6 months now and it works great.

I think your math is off, but you led me to a better deal alltogether.

TD has TWO deals on this same player.

The first deal is on the same player for $110 - 15% BCB - $35 MIR = $58.50. It may be a better deal for some. Since I would have to pay tax (on $110) on TD and not on Newegg or Amazon, it is a wash for me. No sense to deal BCB and TD when the same deal is available at Newegg.

However, they also have the Patriot bundle with a Wi-Fi adapter for $105 - 15% BCB - $35 MIR = $54.75. Even with tax, it is a better deal by ~$5 and a much better deal because of the wireless adapter. Thank you!

yeah thats what i meant, get the wifi bundle deal.

i got that at tiger before for a bit more, and sold the wifi piece for like $12-13 on ebay. so yeah the wifi thing will work on any pc , so its pretty useful.

i;ve had one for like 6 months as well and its a great product. the only thing is the fan is kind of annoying. patriot support has said though that you can disconnect the fan if you dont have a hard drive in it, so then it is silent (which is what i'd done).

another added feature with the patriot that no one talks about is you can use it as a NAS . it can sustain about 5.5-6 MBPS with a usb drive attached to it, which is faster than some routers and standalone nas products on a 100 mbits hub.
