What do you think? This will the the week that the Patriots go down?

I'd hate to see it, but if they keep playing like they have been they will lose. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

If the Pats win, they will win big. If they lose, they will suffer the same fate.

At any rate, I can't wait to see the game.

If the Jets can beat the Steelers I have a feeling the Pats can manage it. that's not a guarantee just saying.

If the offense shows up ready to give 100% effort and the defense steps it up just a little bit from the last couple weeks NE will win the game going away although under no circumstances do I forsee a blowout.

However if they play like they did against Philly & Baltimore (a distinct possibility) then the Steelers are a strong enough overall team to hand them loss number one of the season.

My prediction is 24-17 Patriots but I can't say I'm feeling real confident.

Should be a great game though and probably one of the most physical games

It really all depends on how each team comes to play. If the pats thing there gonna walk all over the steelers then itll be Pittsburgh's game. If the steelers decide to not play offense and little defense (first half of the browns-steelers game) they will get trounced. I will take the pats over the steelers.

Every team that wins a championship faces that attitude from every opponent the next season. Playoff games carry that same feeling for everyone involved. This game is not either of these teams' SB, both will make the playoffs no matter the outcome and have a shot at the real deal. It is just a regular season game, nothing more.

Each team has strengths/weaknesses the other will be able to exploit, should be a good a game.

After the last two games, I don't think the Pats are going to take anyone lightly.

Patriots safety Rodney Harrison, asked by Fox Sports Radio about the comments, answered, "Who was it?' Told it was Smith, Harrison said, "Never heard of him."

3rd year hard hitting backup safety, decent player but certainly not a standout on that squad.

Talk is cheap, but not the brightest move. I am sure both teams feel the same, you can't play in the NFL without that type of confidence. Will it affect the play on the field, doubt it, if you need bulletin board material to get up for a game you don't belong in the leauge. Happens all the time in sports, sometimes they have to eat crow, sometimes it helps turn them into legends ala Joe Namath.

what makes it even better is him talking about how he's always been a winner, yet went to college at syracus, lol. unless he played on their basketball team, i think it's safe to say he knows a lot about losing.

Smith lays the wood whenever possible, but he needs to focus on solid tackling rather than big hits.

That said, I honestly think that both teams will be ready for this game. Pitt lost to subpar teams when they weren't mentally prepared for the games (injuries aside). The Pats almost lost to two subpar teams as well, obv looking like they weren't prepared for the teams that they ended up playing.
I think NE barely wins this game because of the pitt D. Pitt can win, but only if they are firing on ALL cylinders, that would include mr toothlessburger having a mistake free game.

This will be the first time I pick against NE in my office pick'em. Wait, I picked against them when they played the Colts. Ok, first non-homer pick against them. I think their D is getting tired, especially the LBs. Losing Colvin will be huge, IMO.

Not sure I can agree with this. No game of the Century can include a team that has lost to the teams Pitt has and then have a 3-0 win vs a winless team.
This will be the second biggest game this week though, with the first being obvious.

The Steelers have the right offense for beating the Patriots. Pound the ball in the run game, no matter what, and play a smart passing game that doesn't give the Patriots the ball back. That's the philisophy the Ravens used, and the Colts WERE using early in the game when they were winning. The Pats run defense isn't great, and it keeps their offense on the sideline. It will be an interesting game, that's for sure.

The Browns/Cinci matchup earlier this year was one of the best this season. Thankfully we will not see weather/field conditions that played such a huge part in that Miami/Pitt game. Considering your bias against Pitt and your penchant to crap in every thread where they are mentioned it is hard to take anything you say about them, or this game, seriously. You have no clue if they were mentally prepared in those losses.
