Patriots TE Hernandez in big trouble

Jogger found a dead body 1/4 mile from his house, dude was dating the sister of Hernandez GF, Hernandez handed the cops his cell AFTER he smashed it to pieces, then destroyed the surveillance system that protects his house, arrest warrant's expect to be issued for at least obstruction of justice or possibly homicide. Way to F-up your life, just got a contract extension worth 50mil, 12 mil signing bonus..

His biggest problem(if he didn't help in the crime) is

1. A rental car in his name was found at the crime scene
2. His home security and video system was found to be destroyed
3. His cell phone was given to police but was given to them in a destroyed condition

Not saying hes a murderer or an accessory but what has come out certainly makes it appear that he has obstructed justice or could even be accessory after the fact.

My bet is Tim Tebow could become the starting Tight End since Gronk wont be ready in time and Hernandez is just a huge distraction. Plus the NFL can suspend you without you being charged of a crime(Ask Big Ben), let alone being convicted.

3. His cell phone was given to police but was given to them in a destroyed condition

Not saying hes a murderer or an accessory but what has come out certainly make it appear that he was at a minimum an accessory after the fact.

I'm speculating, but perhaps the victim had a spat with the GF's sister and slapped her around or beat her and Hernandez got pissed over it. He had issues here in FL, failed at least one drug test and had gang affiliations, that's why he went in the 4th round when he was 1st round talent no doubt. BB has taken risks like this before (Moss, Dillon) and turned them into "team first" mentality but I think this one's gonna blow up in his face..

Can't believe somebody would throw that kind of life away. And just to kill someone who seemed fairly inconsequential. He is obviously guilty of obstructing justice and the only motivation to obstruct justice would be if he was an accessory or murderer himself. Good call, might happen. Last season the Patriots signed Jake Ballard when the Giant's put him on the wavier wire with full intent on re-signing him once a roster spot had been cleared, Tom Coughlin was pissed as hell at BB, (join the list Tom) when it happened, now Jake is expected to be healthy and has big shoes to fill. Just a shame to F up a life like that, making millions, adored by fan's, excitement of playing in the NFL on a competitive team, all looks like dust in the wind..

life? at this point most speculation is that he's gonna get *at least* obstruction of justice. A felony that generally would carry a 1-2 year prison sentence.

Ballard has been hobbled so far this summer.

If Tebow would just submit to the position he was meant to play, he would do well and could be a starter giving the Patriots situation. I do not believe the Patriots signed him to be a possible 3rd stringer, there is no upside, just a huge downside + circus environment all season unless they plan to cut him at some point during summer.

Naa, he's going to get life. Cases like these, the prosecutors love to charge the maximum penalty possible even though they don't have enough evidence to ensure the conviction. Just the amount of things that he's done to cover his tracks is good enough to get a murder 1 conviction. I'm calling it now!

Not my first choice, but yea if I had more than $1mil I could probably be ok as an international fugitive. Without having thought about this much, first thought is to buy a plot of land with a nice home in a South American country with which the U.S. has no extradition treaty. Might be better if the political system was dominated by one party for a long time, so I could buy them off for stable protection

Patriots love TE who can catch the ball. Not sure how well Tim Tebow will play that role. We know he's a strong guy who can run.
