Even if the Chargers had Jesus playing for them, it wouldn't help.
Honestly, if you had watched the game, you'd know it wasn't Brady who won it for the Patriots.
It was the Chargers who lost it. I don't think I have seen more mistakes in a professional football game, and I am a Panthers fan.
You can say whatever you want about Brady & the Pats, but they managed to stay just close enough to take advantage of the SD mistakes & snatch this game out of the fire.
I watched every play & am a Giants fan btw, so I know the difference between doing just enough to win & doing just enough to lose!
What? I am not even bashing Brady here, but you'd have to be retarded to not see that the Chargers completely fvcked this game up.
In fact, it was amazing the
Chargers were even in a position to take it into OT considering all of the mistakes they made.
Oh I completely agree with you ... SD handed this game to the Pats on a silver platter.
I wasn't trying to say you were bashing Brady exactly, but most other teams in the NFL would have lost this game & the Patriots deserve a lot of credit for winning.
We are not on quite the same page here. Yes we agree that SD handed the Pats the game on a silver platter, but I think you're giving the Pats too much credit.
Most other teams in the NFL couldn't win this game when the opponent (being the Chargers) make this many mistakes (and serious ones at that) ? I think not. They had three interceptions from the man himself but did jack ****** any one of them.
I think the NE o-line deserves the most credit for all but completely neutralizing the Chargers pass rush. The obviously prepared well. The Chargers defense was out there far too long and couldn't get pressure or cover well enough to get the job done.
We certainly disagree about some things ... from what I saw the Pats offensive line got man-handled by the Chargers pass rush for most of the game, SD shut down their running game & until Brady went into the shotgun they pressured him into many mistakes he doesn't often make.
There are quite a few specific blunders in this game you could point to & say "theres where SD lost it", but my opinion is that since NE had shown NO ability to stop LT & the running game, perhaps it would have been wise to stick with it & only pass often enough to keep NE's D guessing... from what I saw NE's D was sucking wind from the pounding they were taking, then for some inexplicable reason SD let up on them.
To sum it up (as I said earlier) the decision to move away from the running game when it was working VERY well was what really cost SD this game despite the turnovers, stupid penalties & sloppy play at times ... the Patriots were able to take advantage of this despite playing quite badly themselves and for that I do give them full credit.
What we do agree on is that SD handed NE the game, however you seem to feel that NE taking it when offered wasn't worth much.
