DJ Greddy?

Keoki was cool.. Aphrodite definitely has some great stuff going pretty far back. His remix of NIN's 'Perfect Drug' was awesome! I agree that Oakenfold is becoming 'mainstream' but I still have a good bunch of his CD's.

Oakenfold is OK. Keoki, Digweed, Fortier and Tiesto are better IMHO.

But Dave Seaman is da best.

DJ's are not artists (except those that MAKE their own music). Don't get it mixed up. We're disc jockeys, nothing more nothing less. We choose for you the music you are hearing. That being said, it's definitely fine to have a favorite DJ. Especially if they're good at picking and playing what YOU want to hear.

However, I hate rave music. House music's innovation and creativity has been in coma way too long because of it. When I used to sneak around and do underground parties that moved around all the time in high school, it was really fresh and exciting. Now the freakin' Sony Metreon is holding a rave every few months. What the #@$%? House music = white suburbia/pop? man, a lot of dj's are rolling around in their turntable coffins right about now. Hopefully house music can start balancing the commercial acceptance with the originality of old.

*yay* for trance. Oakenfold is cheddar.

<< << the only overhyped djs that i saw was dj jean.. and dj scribble... >>

Skribs is mad talented, if you like mainstream music he is the best out there.
>>

Talented and mainstream music djing, I don't see how thoes mix.

Djchemistry: Djs choose the tracks, but it takes a good one to mix them well.
Dj/producers are the best breed out there.

<< However, I hate rave music >>

Sammyson

Don't get me wrong but mixing is not that hard. A dj isn't even considered a dj if he can't mix. Mixing is a pretty fundamental aspect of it. Music selection and overall charisma and voice have a stronger role in a dj's popularity. No matter how well you mix, if you pick crappy songs ppl will not dance. And if your voice sounds like crap, they won't listen to anything you say. And if you have no charisma, you'll never stand out.

I second that. Scribble sucks so bad its not even funny.

<< oakenfolds a good trance dj.. if trance is your thing... >>

LOL he has only made one trance album which was not good. Otherwise hes great.

If you want some good music try Astral Projectoion or Trance Control.

Otherwise Oakenfold & Paul Van Dyk are AWESOME DJs. Just because they are becoming main stream does not mean they are bad. And simply because they are becoming main stream some of you guys seem intent on calling it crap.
