VW owns Porsche; lawyers smells blood.

ohhh.

hmm i would think the timing would make them fight this. then again the main lawyers are going to be busy. so they will have some new less talented lawyers for porsche.

Seems to me someone is taking advantage of Paul's daughter. He no doubt had enough money from his movies.

No, every consensus says that nobody crashes exotic cars unless traveling too fast for their skill level. The driver might have been experienced, but he was not skilled. A skilled driver does not plow a car into a pole on a clear dry road with no traffic or mechanical failure as a contributing factor. The driver was an idiot with more ego than skill. Every consensus says that you don't floor the throttle in a car without knowing how it will react. Every consensus says that when learning a new car you approach the limits slowly and intelligently so that you learn where they are without exceeding them. Every consensus says that you don't drive 90mph+ on a city street where the speed limit is 35mph. Every consensus says that no car is idiot proof and any car can be fatally crashed when an idiot is at the wheel.
That's it, case closed.

People who try to defend the case, have you ever drove 94mph inside the city itself? That's complete madness.

It's obviously the girl being exploited, especially in such timing. I hope they lose big time and learn a very rough lesson.

when safety belts was introduced the average speed of the cars was way lower
but now the engines of the cars evolving and gettign better
any car you buy can hit 120km+
at that speed the powers generated at an accident from your body to the belt
and from the belt to your body are high enough to break your ribs
lawyers with no understanding of physics
the body is moving forward and hits the belt

but this will happen with any care if crashed at the mentioned speed
its not a problem of Porsche or problem of the belt
we went above the limit of force our body can take before getting damaged

so why not sue the pope for god making us breakable!??!?!?!

we will not judge because the car was a porche
we judge from what happened in the accident

but first they need to sue the police for reporting higher speeds that the speeds they claim the accident happened
they will go in trial and say the car was doing 70 when the police say 90?!?!?!

^ i hope someone sues you for the way you format your posts.

I'm pretty sure he/she is participating as a way to practice English. It's frustrating to see line breaks in the middle of sentences but he/she should be encouraged.

I just read this about the car,
"The Carrera GT quickly developed a reputation as a car for skilled drivers only, Patrick George, of the auto enthusiast website Jalopnik, tells THR. Jeremy Clarkson, the host of BBC's Top Gear, once described its handling as "knife edge" and that if the driver makes a mistake, "It bites your head off." Jay Leno, a collector of high-performance sports cars, famously spun out in a Carrera GT at high speed in 2005 while attempting to set a speed record at Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama."
This was as close to an F1 car that was street-legal as one could get. As famously once said in a Clint Eastwood movie, " a man's got to know his limitations ". It's carbon-fiber construction probably did little to help in the event of a crash and though I feel for the daughter over the loss of her dad one look at the wreckage indicates extreme speed upon impact.

This. Lawyer is bilking her for a case he knows he can't win.

Or he's hoping for a cash offer from Porsche to get this out of the headlines as quickly as possible. I cannot imagine a jury, after learning of the car's capabilities would look at Walkers death as needlessly caused by manufacturers defect.

Police report has the car driving at 90 mph range and the sue is talking about 70 mph range?!?!?!? They challenge 2 things at once. The official police report and the manufacturer for defects??? They now that if they go to court with 90 mph speed they can not win the case, so they put a lower one. But this should not be 2 stages??? First a sue on the police for the actual speed and then if they win a sue on the manufacturer?

The protection we expect form a car varies from its speed of the accident. While we expect in low/ normal legal speeds the car to be pretty safe. When we start climbing the speed we know that in case of accident the capabilities of the car become less and less and above a speed it a certain death.

So why we are talking still about it? The sue the company over the pretense of a lower speed accident that officially did not happened?? So now not the police but the lawyers will say what was the speed??? so they can account a company viable for sue!?!?!?

You should have changed it to "Porch" so that we could further ridicule it. By the OP's spelling, I'm pretty sure the OP thinks the word is one syllable like most of the media.
