I find it funny that people all of a sudden think that you have to pay for hotmail. It's still the same basic service, but with less extras. Be happy you had a free email providor that let you check your pop mail and such. Such crybabies...

Just buy your own domain. You can host your own domain very cheaply now these days. You never have to give up pop3, you get losts of storage space, etc..
