So Mr Bill Gates wants to charge me now to use Free Hotmail.

Is there an alternative webmail service I can use that also can check multiple POP accounts?

thanks

I find it funny that people all of a sudden think that you have to pay for hotmail. It's still the same basic service, but with less extras. Be happy you had a free email providor that let you check your pop mail and such. Such crybabies...

Actually, Hotmail is stopping the free POP service. You'll have to pay money for that starting soon (don't remember when, but I want to say in a month).

i've finally found a domain i like that isn't taken... and have gone that route now. i think good feature-full free email will end soon.. how long can a company stand to lose money? Hotmail is probably one of the few that will last a while cause MS has so much money just lyin around.

I use fastmail to handle the domain stuff. Very nice interface that is fast and simple and ad-free (free acounts just have very minimal ads). I like using the web interface... i can keep everything in sync from where-ever i check my email.

heh...i've been with hotmail for god knows how long now. I signed up when i first thought it was an adult website link that my younger brother had brought home. I went online to check it out and it turned out to be email. I think that was about 5 or 6 years ago now. Hotmail's had some serious changes and faces throughout the years, not to mention security holes.

Thanks to an AT post I read a few months ago I use Ureach.com:

Free
Check POP e-mail accounts
6MB vs Hotmail's 2MB

Here's an even better choice but it'll cost you a few bucks. Go to Namecheap.com where for $8.88 you can register your own www.whateveryouwant.com domain which includes a lot of perks such as free e-mail forwarding

Just buy your own domain. You can host your own domain very cheaply now these days. You never have to give up pop3, you get losts of storage space, etc..

Exactly.

You can do the domain registration AND hosting for around $10:
$8.88 Namecheap.com domain registration and e-mail forwarding
$1.00 CyberWings.com website hosting which includes 15MB website space, 6GB bandwidth per month, UNLIMITED e-mail accounts, you can't go wrong for a buck!
