What do you all think is the best way to do payments, and avoid fees or problems, when buying/selling here ?

If you really trust someone zelle or gift via PayPal is zero fee. Absolutely no protection for the seller or buyer though.

Paypal is pretty much the universal way. When people start using weird lesser known methods it just makes everyone's lives difficult.

I read the pinned posts in that forum section with no mention of such a seemingly obvious question.
I probably wouldn't be allowed to sell what I wanted to anyways, likely some rule about that. Too afraid I'll get robbed tbh. or dogged with massive fees.

I guess ebay is the one charging 10% ... paypal is 2.9% ?
Say I sell something that is $10,000 and someone just claims it wasn't what they expected .... I just instantly have to give them the $ back and lose my product ? is the seller protected at all ?
If I do registered mail with the tracking number, does paypal look at that as proof it was delivered ?

Wow did not realize the fees were that high, I never noticed TBH as I don't usually do lot of transactions and there's usually taxes, shipping, sometimes even exchange if it's a US seller, so guess the fee kind of just blends in and I never noticed.

Payment processing and fees and shipping really make it difficult to sell something and turn a profit. I stopped dealing with it on ebay and just throw all my stuff away now. The last time I tried to sell something on eBay, the auction ended at $20, the person skipped out on payment and eBay shut down their account but still charged me the listing fees of $2 that they never gave me an option to get refunded. SO I lost $2 and didn't sell my item. I say, avoid eBay unless you're a buyer and are buying from a legitimate seller. (and be nice to the sellers on there....they likely put up with a lot of crap in that marketplace)

Yeah sounds like a pain, I don't deal with it too much myself but yeah the few times I did I found it was not worth it.

One thing I've always envisioned is a site kinda like Ebay/Amazon, but where there is no expiry on the listings, and you only pay a small fee after it sells. It would be good to sell oddball stuff that you are not likely to easily sell quickly, but at least if someone at some point does happen to come accross it, it sells. Would be kind of hard to compete with Ebay and Amazon though.
