Is this for anything in the NewEgg store, or just the items with a promo code on the ad page?

Maximum total amount of cash back per PayPal account is $50 USD

You must read all of the restrictions

So basically you can buy anything up to $250 and get $50 bucks back. This is basically another rebate on top of whatever the retailer is offering also.

Not bad..

The question on everyone's mind:

How do we get the money back? Is our credit card charged 20% less or do we get the money back in terms of a mailed check or as Paypal "bucks"?

Read the Terms & Conditions fully so we don't have to wade through doleful complaints later! I'll highlight a few features with emboldening:

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
PAYPAL HOLIDAY CASH BACK PROMOTION

Multiple purchases are allowed. Payments at Overstock.com must each be for at least $100 USD (including shipping and taxes) to qualify. In the event that you made a purchase and the merchant has not billed you for it, the purchase amount must be charged to your account no later than January 10, 2008 to qualify (and you must still make the purchase within the offer period).

7. Excluded Transactions. The following transactions are excluded from this offer: PayPal Mobile transactions, payments using the PayPal Plug-In (formerly named: Virtual Debit Card) service, PayPal ATM/Debit Card payments, payments made when you are not logged into your PayPal account, and PayPal Plus Credit Card/ eBay MasterCard payments not made through your PayPal account. If the payment is refunded or cancelled at any time, you are not eligible for the promotion. 8. Restrictions: PayPal reserves the right to cancel, suspend or modify part or this entire offer at any time without notice, for any reason in its sole discretion. This offer cannot be resold or transferred.

If Paypal is financially struggling, then this has risks; if not, it's a nice Xmas gift. BUT... January 31, 2008 isn't just around the corner! Maybe it's time for a Q6600!

We have two PP accts at the same address. We keep one as a Basic for no fees and one is Premier for CC/DC payments both are attached to one bank acct but have different cards on the accts for backup. So you can get two $50. totals. It doesn't say that the acct had to be active at the beginning of the program, so new accts are eligible.

I search for 1TB drives, and the WD shows up in the results list for $249, but when I load up the page for the drive itself, the price jumps to $279... wtf?

Where on NewEgg's website does it show that they're participating in this?

EDIT: It appears everything is included in the promotion...

It's a complete cluster%@#$ at the moment. Newegg CSRs are telling everyone at Slickdeals different things. Nobody knows for sure yet if ALL items on Newegg are fair game for the 20% or if it's just items on the the newsletter page.

For instance, You can get a kickass deal on a new iPod Touch at 20% off, but nobody is sure yet if it'll work or not.

I'd hold off on ordering anything until something is comfirmed.

Awesome. I'm putting together a new budget box and already have some of the pieces. The remaining parts should cost around $250-$300 and this is a free $50 off.

Not much of a paypal user but I do have a account but there is only 1.52 in it right now lol....

Do you have to have money in the account to do this or will they just withdraw the funds from your checking account that they have on file?

Let's suppose that you do get $50 Paypal bucks added to your PP account. How hard is it to convert it to real world dollars in your bank account? Do you have to pay a fee for transferring it to your account? (I've only sent money via Paypal; I've never taken it in.)

shocksyde,

That language is not necessary at any time, but certainly not on a public forum.

moparacer,
. P-P will use any balance and the rest from the primary funding source (bank acct. or CC/DC) unless you instruct otherwise (say you have a secondary source attached that you'd rather use).

All,
. For right now, I wouldn't assume that any but the offers that appear when you click on the PayPal offer banner are covered under the PP deal as there is no generalized coupon code for the deal (as yet). I wouldn't assume that the newsletter offers are even included in the deal.

You click a button and specify how much you want to download into your bank account. That's pretty much it. Takes 3-4 business days to complete usually.

The ONLY catch would be if they gave you 50 credit and not cash, but the ads say 50 cash back, therefore you should be able to download it back to your bank account.
