Looks like a new one circulating today, 4/4.

Dear valued PayPal member:
It has come to our attention that your PayPal billing updates are
out of order. If you could please take 5-10 minutes out of your
online experience and update your billing records you will not run
into any future problems with the online service. However, failure
to update your records will result in account termination. Please
update your records by April 25th.

Once you have updated your account records your PayPal session will not be
interrupted and will continue as normal. Failure to update will result in
cancellation of service, Terms of Service (TOS) violations or future billing
problems.

To update your PayPal records click here:

When are we going to start seeing some authorities crack down on this crap?

like a firewall..

its obviously not legal to scam/ collect other people's passwords and private information, at the same time they trample on the intellectual property rights of Paypal/eBay by mimicing their page exactly as is

theoretically eBay/Paypal could sue a scammer for all the money they had

nonetheless, tracking them down is hard since they are in russia or some other 3rd world country

these things really suck for the moms and pops that use ebay or what not and need paypal as a means of transferring funds as they may not be exactly the most computer savvy people around.

Me too. I never trust money received e-mail. I always go into my account for verification.

Same here... if paypal/ebay/whoever sends you any kind of notifying info, exit email, open a new browser and go to site directly.... just to be safe that is.

It may be more convenient to expand the e-mail headers when you get a notice supposedly from them... if you know what to look for, it's much simpler to verify than to actually go to the site and log in, and just as reliable, unless someone corrects me.

Yeah, I got the same e-mail this morning as well. The minute I read it I smelled a scam. Still, I wonder how many people actually fall for it?

I just got that e-mail about the paypal scam this afternoon. I laughed my rear off thinking "my God, this is painfully obvious"... I would hope that nobody is falling for that one, but if it's still going around, I would imagine it must be doing some kind of good!!!

Seems like the grammatical errors give these scams away ore often then not. I've seen some pretty bad ones in the past.

Very true. Most of them are almost impossible to read with all the typos! Actually this one must have used spell check or something! It looked pretty darn legit, but it was still pretty easy to tell that someone was scamming bigtime.

I have been getting this scam (we are updating=need info) since I started AOL 10 years ago. But here's one I couldn't figure out; I got .1 cent from somebody I didn't know with no info. It just said "Here ya go." I declined, but could never figure out the scam (or reason). Anybody else have that? Or just somebody messing with me.
