I just closed my paypal account. After seeing this and the msnbc report, I don't think they are safe anymore. I hope they nail the b#@stard who's doing the scam.
If the Crdeit Card # is stolen, don't most credit cards only hold you accountable for up to $50? If this is the case , won't the credit cards take the hit. Please, someone respond so I'll know whether or not to remove my personal info. Thanks
I think some of you guys might be a bit too paranoid. Cancelling your paypal account jsut because a scam is going on really isnt clear thinking. I mean if they had your information that is a good reason to do so but otherwise why bother? I mean thats like cancelling your CC because someone got ahold of your next door neighbours CC number. If you didnt get scammed and give up your password and login you dont have much reason to worry

I'm with PYR on this one. If they already have your info, closing your account won't do much now anyway. Plus all you have to do is notify the credit card companies. They won't make you pay if you are the victim of fraudulent activities. None the less I'm glad I didn't get into the PayPal business...
