PayPal-secure SCAM! BEWARE!

I just received this very scam today. I hope they are caught and strung-up.

Damascus, no, but if you telnet in to [EDIT: nm, my mistake] and send a series of carraige returns, it presents you with another login prompt and identifies itself as:
Red Hat Linux release 7.1 (Seawolf)
Kernel 2.4.9 on an i686

The other interesting thing about it is that the ports it has open seem to be the ports used by the java version of apache. Also, port 2000 is running another http server.

I would be more than happy to discuss any of the claims on either of these sites. You would notice, after some review, that many of the issues have had to do with bad seller/buyers---items we don't have direct control over.

All customer service issues can be resolved/explained.

Yesterday I received an email Chain Letter wanting me to deposit $5 in someone's PayPal account. I don't know if it was a scam to steal more than the $5, or just some sh!tty way of trying to make money $5 at a time, but I mean really. Chain Letters too? I emailed the source of the email back and reemed them a new A$$hole. Let the bad luck begin I guess... NOT.

As far as where they got the addy's, not sure.

I used PayPal ONCE over a year ago to buy a PC case from a website, yet they got my addy somewhere....from PayPal perhaps...???

***NEW DEVELOPMENT?***

I found a charge on my bank statement today for $75.90 From SecureWebs.com.
My bank was able to give me the phone number of the company, and called and was informed that several thousand people had also gotten this charge from them and that it was a fraud. They are apparently an ecommerce clearinghouse. Interestingly, the CSR that I talked to stated that the only thing they are finding in common with these charges is a Paypal account. That would make since for me, since this was my debit card which I use ONLY via Paypal as far as on-line purchases.

Interestingly enough, the only interaction I have had with my Paypal account recently is when I went to this scam site (knowing it was a scam thanks to AT) and entered bogus information.

THAT'S RIGHT... I ENTERED BOGUS INFORMATION. I still don't understand how, but somehow the scammer was still able to get my real info...

For those of you that visited to enter junk info... be on the lookout!
