PayPal: what could go wrong?

You need to link to a bank account to be "verified" (required on some sites like Ebay) but think you can skip it if you want.

Just had a problem but it was my fault. Sold something on eBay. After 5 days asked the buyer about payment. Gave me a screen shot of payment proof. Did not show in my PP account.

Contacted ebay. They told me the email address the payment went to. It was mine but old and now dead. I listed on eBay with the offline software and it had the dead address.

Contacted PP and explained the situation. Rep added the address to my account and while I was on the page the money showed up.

Bad thing was buyer posted negative feedback before I found the problem. Has since retracted it and I am again 100%.

Lol that reminds me of a situation where I was trying to recover an account for something, I forget what, but it used an old email address I no longer used. The email had previously been registered through a free provider where you just pick a domain out of a list. I picked one that was nice and short. I think that provider eventually shut down, but the domain I picked just by chance happened to turn into a German email provider. So I registered the same email there (while trying to guess what the site said) and was able to recover the account! lol. That was a fluke and a half.
