Where are these guys located? I'd be willing "fix" their cameras for them for $50 a hour plus travel expenses, assuming that I don't have to listen to them drone on about all of the stupid things they tried to get it working

I watched some. Cliffs:

- Two guys from non profit company buy 4 remote control cameras (costing $999 each)
- They download the hugeass manual and print it out on paper (lol)
- Manual says the cameras need a computer thats a dual/quad processor and "microsoft XPS"
- One of them states "microsoft XPS? thats ancient, its not even internet usable anymore"
- They spend two weeks looking for a "microsoft dual/quad XPS computer" fuck knows what they actually ended up buying
- They cant get cameras working
- Try for 90 days to get them working
- Customer service probably realize what idiots they are and piss them about


Basically its a big misunderstanding of the "system requirements" in the manual. If they just plugged the fucking things into literally any computer made in the past 5 years it likely would've been fine lol.

All the JVC software, from camera control to video editing/capture, supports Windows 7 SP1 (32/64). I don't know what they are on about with "XPS", which I also figured was novice-speak for Windows XP. The surveillance/security CCTV, IP camera, multiplexer and DVR market is notorious for lagging behind on application support for the latest OS, but not THAT bad.

That is so painful to watch. I've dealt with luddites and laymen over the phone so I can only imagine the JVC folks having to walk these dolts through simple things. In general, old people and technology don't mix and I really don't want to be one of those guys when I get ripe.
