if you got some value RAM instead of that OCZ gold stuff, and dropped that raptor, you could afford a 6800GT over that 6600GT. you could get MUCH better gaming performance that way

get the dfi lanparty sli-dr if overclocking. or, get the msi k8n neo4 platinum sli. get the nd-3520a or wait for the 3540a. dont waste money on the vga cooler. get a 6800gt.

what is your budget? also, put prices next to your items.

Yeah, actually now looking over your build more extensively it looks like you're spending your money in the wrong places.

First, I see that you'll be using...cadd? Is this CAD? For that you'll need 2GB of ram, I recommend Corsair Value Select or Crucial Value. For the sound card, get an Audigy2 ZS at max, you don't really need a Platinum unless you're doing sound editing/recording and whatnot. And drop the Raptor again, definately not worth it.

With all the money you saved you can get a 6800GT, which is a thousands times better than having a 6600GT with all that extra crap.

Updated - I almost never overclock if that can save me some cash.. no budget just trying not to break the bank.. CAD and Mastercam are running fine on my 2.4c / Abit IS7 / 512 ram pc now. I only use CAD and Mastercam to make knives on so it is not that tough on a computer.

if u r going to OC.. go for DFI board... if not go for NEO4...
or save money and get Gigabyte K8NF-9 or Epox 9NPA+.. they are great for non-OC'ers
save some money on raptor and get x800 xl instead of 6600gt...
x800 xl is the best bang for the buck right now.. it will blaze 6600gt in dust..

I don't quite understand. Why buy an SLI based board if you're going to run an SLI graphics array? Or do you plan on purchasing another 6800GT?

$105 for 1GB of that memory? If you almost never overclock, Why not just purchase something of low level CAS3 base? $38(512MB PC3200 Supertalent) each, the minimum last time I checked from most vendors. $38x4 DIMMs=$153. An increase of $48, but you end up of with 2GB of memory rather than 1GB of OCZ memory for your CAD base application. As stated by Mrville.

Or 1GB PC3200 DIMM(1 stick, not a pair) Supertalent can be purchased for $83. If you're really serious about CAD/CAM,then I wouldn't hesitate to purchase the 1GB module @ $83 each. Would equal 4GB of memory and extend the life and performance of the PC. But, that's just an afterthought here.

And, if you're not going to run SLI, why not just buy a basic socket 939 board for $100 or less?

MSI K8N Neo4 for example. Fits your criteria of requested features.

So, 2GB(512MBx4) PC3200 for $152+ $79 for the simplified motherboard=$232. Rather than $105 for 1GB of OCZ and $169 for a motherboard=$275

Also, I believe you can purchase a Western Digital 3200JB or JD series for a similar price if you look around. It's 320GB verse that of the 250GB of the Maxtor. (Nothing against Maxtor, I use em, the price is ridiculous to me here).

Western Digital 320GB ATA133. The SATA150 version is about $5 more I believe here.

Last, I see you're going for a Hyundai LCD for $344. But, IIRC, Dell has or had a deal going on their widescreen LCD FP2005W for $500 after coupon(s) and $400 and under for their 20.1 FP2001 panels. It might be worth investigating in the hot deals forum if that peaks your interest.

Just my honest opinion on your selection of components.

I would agree with his post about the Video. Try this link on the x800XL $259 here.

The XP-90 should only be used if you're going for very quiet cooling over the stock. (When not overclocking)

I was planing on adding another 6800gt in a few months.. but after reading all about SLI today I see there really is no point, so I will change the mobo to a non-sli mobo.

I have never bought value ram for no real reason, but I might give it a shot.

The monitor was one that came recomended for gaming.. I will check out the Dell.

Again,

Thank You all for the help..
