Pc Club (clubit.com) are closed for good --->update

PC Club sucked, but ClubIT was a good business model.

The problem with their PC Club stores is that they offered nothing unique or price comparative to Fry's. Though I live 35 miles away from Fry's, and 5 minutes from a PC Club store, I still goto Fry's. A good portion of their stores were located nearby of a Fry's.

More like ClubAR, for after rebate. They quickly became kings of the $3-4 etc cheap@ss addon rebate that they know most won't send in. I avoided them like the dogs they were.

I am just glad I harrassed Clubit about my $30 rebate a couple of weeks ago. Already got my check and cashed it.......

I could never find a good enough deal at ClubIT- there was always a cheaper place. All the same, it is a shame to see them close down.

I remember getting a few parts from the Westwood, CA PC Club to build my first PC by hand back near 2000 or 2001, since I had the original Unreal Tournament and a few other FPS games to play. But I have gone to Fry's since then.

What i heard according to my friends ,they file for BK and they are trying to sell the stores (along with the inventories) to offset some of the debt.

I have one about 3 miles from me. I might be able to save some money by shopping online, but the convenience of having just about everything I could ever want/need near me is worth it.
