Hello all.
I have a small problem that gets worse over time.
The problem is that the PC crashing completely, I can not do anything in a given situation, the only option is the RESET or POWER OFF button. Sometimes I have to wait several seconds, because even after the reset and PC running I have a black screen.

The problem occurred at the beginning while playing, screen began to cut with the sound, I could then minimize and see what is happening in the resources. And here, surprisingly, nothing extraordinary except for the load on the 3D processor, but it could have been from the game.
Now freez even occurs when Windows is turned on, or when browsing regular pages.

I checked the temperature while playing, but everything in the norm does not exceed 80 degrees GPU.
I tested the GPU in the OCCT application and after 1 minute I received freez, despite the lack of strange readings..

I am enclosing a screenshot of HWMonitor. (in one place it still shows 127 C degrees but I have read that it may be a reading error of the motherboard)
I will add that the computer is almost 3 years old, and it has started to appear for several months.

My equipment:
Windows 10
Disk - SSD Crucial BX100 250GB SATA3 (CT250BX100SSD1)
Graphics card - MSI Graphics card MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING 4GB DDR5 (256 bit) DP, HDMI, 2x DVI (GTX 970 GAMING 4G)
Case - BitFenix Phenom (BFC-PHM-300-WWXKK-RP)
Memory - HyperX Fury Black, DDR4, 16GB (2x8GB), 2400MHz, CL15 (HX424C15FBK2 / 16)
Motherboard - MSI Z170M Mortar (7972-001R)
Processor - Intel Core i5-6600K, 3.5GHz, 6MB, BOX (BX80662I56600K)
Power supply - XFX TS 550W (P1-550S-XXB9)
CPU cooling - SilentiumPC Fortis 3 HE1425 v2 (SPC130)

This does sound a hardware failure (or imminent), but to rule that out, let's start with some basics. Is it possible to boot into safe mode with networking? If this isn't possible, I'd first recommend reseating your memory and graphics cards and check all connections are solidly in place.

Run a full file scan with Malwarebytes (it's free).

After Malwarebytes runs its full scan, open a cmd or powershell window and run sfc /scannow. If any errors, attempt to run again. You can rerun this as many times as possible to attempt repairs of critical system files. However, if after 3 attempts you're still getting failures, I'd recommend running dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth to resolve possible corrupted backup system files. (CBS.log shows which files fail to update, and is extensive in its reporting, so you may spend a lot of time looking at that and isn't entirely necessary unless it continually fails.) sfc /scannow should run again after dism and resolve system files.

Report back if any of these things indicate an issue.

I like the above suggestion - try using just the integrated GPU to rule out your 970 going bad.

If the system never crashes with just using internal GPU, then it narrows it down to (1) Your 970 or (2) your power supply.

If you have 2 memory chips then try running with only one at a time. That will allow you to rule out faulty memory (i.e. if it only crashes with one chip and not the other then that's your problem, if it continues to crash with either chip then it's probably not the memory).

It's not the memory. Faulty memory has different behavior.

Try with the integrated GPU, like the guys above said.

Try reseating the GPU. A while ago I thought my 970 died, but it went back to normal after reseating.

You need to troubleshoot your hardware. Start with the easiest and remove the GTX 970 from the physical pci-e slot and run your computer on your internal IGPU.

If problem persists, then remove 1 stick of ram, if problem persists, then remove the remaining ram stick and put in the other one in, if issues still occur then you need to test your PSU, borrow a PSU from your friends or use an older one if you have laying around.

You can also check the hardware for errors and bad sectors, this is done through software, there are millions programs to do so online.

If you check all of the above and there are still issues, its either your MOBO or CPU. The easier of which to troubleshoot is the CPU, you can lower the operating frequency in the bios, just basic settings like putting it into energy saver mode or low noise mode, etc will lower the clocks and see if it causes issues, ultimately if that doesn't bear fruit you'd need to borrow a cpu that is compatible with that board and check it and see if there are still issues. If you check all of the hardware parts and there is still issues its the motherboard.

Again you'll need to trouble shoot your hardware to rule out erroneous components one by one.
