So my brother comes in and asks me to help him fix his computer
i ask him what happened and he says:
'I was chargin my iphone 6 and had it connected to one of the usb ports on the back of the PC. once the charging was done i disconnected my iphone, but left the usb cable connected to the back of the pc. The other end of the cable (the lightning connector/the part that goes into the iphone) was on the way on my desk so instead of tossing it aside i put it inside one of the usb connectors (since the head is smaller than the big usb port it fit' in the front of the case and the pc shut off'
so i tell him it most likely fried his motherboard
am i correct to assume that?
how can i troubleshoot something that dumb?
what is the most likely thing to have died? mother board? power supply? processor? allof the above?
