PC doesn't boot if standing upright

I have a tower and ever since I opened it up to fix something in there, my computer won't start for some reason if it stands in the upright position. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the CPU since I had to take it out and put it back in for it to work again. Right now the tower is laying flat on the ground. I've tried to slowly pick it up to make it stand but the computer would just freeze and not start up afterwards. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Most likely that, but your heatsink might be way too heavy. Probably not, but you never know.

I've heard of screws falling behind the mobo and causing shorts which had similar symptoms

Like Zeke I have also seen a screw or Stand off between the motherboard and motherboard tray.
