Now the computer savvy among us can relive the fun of having your very own personal mini-oven with the PC Ez-Bake oven! It fits in a 5 1/4" drive bay and plugs right into your power supply with the included Molex connector.

Also included is "PC Ez-Cook", the open-source oven controller software with hundreds of easy and creative recipes for your PC Ez-Bake oven, and even a fuzzy-logic cooking control system to precisely measure the doneness of your cake, cookie, or cheese souffle. The PC Ez-Bake oven can even be used to cook your Pop Tarts, Bagel Bites, or any tiny or flat food. YUM!

Anyone remember their 'Shrinter' from last year?

Man, I laughed 'til I cried.

From an article posted on Wired yesterday.

The infinite power supply does not exist. But for the past two years, that fact hasn't stopped people from trying to buy one.

In fact, ever since ThinkGeek, an online retailer of offbeat gadgets, put up the item on its website as an April Fools' Day prank in 2002, requests to purchase the item have continued to arrive at a slow but steady rate.

"We've had people e-mailing us from all over the world telling us they were very interested in it," said Scott Smith, a buyer for ThinkGeek, adding that no one who places an order actually gets charged for the $200 Desktop Zero-Point Infinite Power Generator. He said the site also receives queries on a regular basis, albeit in lower volumes, for other fake postings, including a USB George Foreman Grill and caffeinated meatloaf.

Chance are this is more of the same. Also note the banner ad on the lower left hand side of the page. Half-Life 2, Doom 2, and Halo 2 shipping now.

:edit

Heres a link to the Shrinter.

Good stuff. I especially like the last line of the specs.

Encryption modules optionally available to one-time encrypt your data as it's being Shrinted® for added security!

I would think an EZBake oven inside a PC would be a safety nightmare. Do you think it has any safety certs? ;-)

It should be no more dangerous than the latest P4s.

(Here's an idea: use the waste heat from your computer's CPU(s) to cook stuff. Maybe some ductwork placed atop the HSF(s) directed into a box would get the job done. You'd have to do something to keep dust out, though, lest your angel-food cake get ruined by a dust bunny blown through the ducts. )

I hope they have a deluxe model that takes up two 5 1/4" bays so I can feed the whole family.

The funny thing is, if these were actually real, I'd probably one.

I think this would be perfect... no longer making the long trek (through the house and down All Those Stairs!) to the kitchen for a pop tart.

For that you'll want the drive bay slot-loading toaster

Special office friendly recipes including "Duck Sauce Packet Tart", "Vending Machine Casserole", and "Non-Dairy Creamer Creme Brulee"

"Vending Machine Casserole" yum, yum.
"Non-Dairy Creamer Creme Brulee" for those that are calorie or carb conscious.
