Hi, this may be a bit of a repeat of the thread a little bit below but I thought I'd ask it individually. My four-year-old HP envy 14 laptop as kind a got to the end of its life. Overall it's been a bit of a disappointment, the built-in camera broke after maybe 20 uses, it was prone to overheating, the glare on the screen was a major disappointment more than I anticipated, and it just hasn't been what I'd hoped it would be. The bright side is I got it basically for free by using gift certificates at Staples that I got from air miles.
Anyway I'd like to get something that is good for doing some gaming here and there as well as just being a general good overall laptop that I can drag into bed to watch streams of college football and other sporting events while I'm lazing in bed. It's not necessarily my primary gaming platform, I do have a very good desktop that I used to game a lot, but I wanted to have a laptop as well because I drag it in front of my TV during college football season and play some games while I watch football and other sporting events.
My heavy addiction as far as games right now is world of tanks. The other types of games I enjoy are some shooters and RPG type games. I realize you kinda get what you pay for and I'm not anticipating this to be able to run on maxed out ultra graphics for every game. But something that would put out good graphics when it's new and maintain a reasonable level over a couple years is what I'm looking for.
I am not brand loyal. But with that said I'm not sure about what brands are reliable and what or not. I have not really kept up to date as far as laptops and brands. So MSI versus a ASus versus alien
ware versus whatever I'm not really sure. I have seen that MSI laptop seem to be slightly less costly than something such as Alienware but I don't know if the components and reliability are equal level of reliability.
So basically with the ceiling cost price of $2000 I'm looking for you guys to recommend something prebuilt that I could buy from somewhere that has a good overall power and graphics capability that should last me 3 to 4 years before I have to recycle to a new purchase. It doesn't have to be but if the given model is available at future shop that would be a bonus as I have a $75 gift certificate as well as a coupon to get $50 off of the purchase. But that's not mandatory just FYI.
So fire away as far as comments and suggestions. Thanks
