My ass. I was behind in the Stalker series. Just finished them all back to back. (Vanilla, can't wait to go though them all with Complete and other mods).

Before that, I finished Dragon Age. Just starting DA:A and can't wait to get home to play some more. I was never a Starcraft fiend, but, I know that I am in the minority.

Never mind that I was a WoW addict for 3 years. (Along with MILLIONS of others) And I'd happily still play if I didn't just start a family and saw the toll it took on my health.

Played Bad Company 2 like a fiend until I unlocked all the weapons, then happened to moved onto some other AAA titles.

Steam, and other online distribution sites, are crack.

Long live PC Gaming! I love you man!

Well, I was, (and still am) an xbox gamer, but I'm in the process of building a gaming PC. Mainly it's going to be for SC2, but I know once I start playing PC it's going to blossom into many other games as well. It's an exciting time for me! Haven't played any pc games since SC1 and Counter-strike.

Yup, take a lot of willpower when they have their sales

Steam... is... the devil. ^_^

PC gaming is starting to see a renaissance. I left in 2007 mainly because copy protection was starting to get ridiculous, and quality control wasn't what it should have been. That's changed since then so I'm back. Plus I can get multiplatform titles cheaper. Who needs a 360?

Dead horse, beat it, over and over, please.

I'm so goddamn tired of these topics. If you think it is dead, fine. It isn't, and you're wrong, but think what you want. And if you think it isn't, fine. But goddamn, quit the topics on it..

You need to step back and relax buddy.. You never took the time to read his post and went on a tirade over nothing. Re-read the post and think about it.

computers and consoles each have their place.

SC2? PC hands-down.
Playing Madden or Smash Bros? I would prefer playing that on a console in my living room.
FPS? I prefer PC, but not everyone has a PC that can handle it...

Each is good for different things.

Agreed. Any platformer sort of game feels better on console, IMO. I would PREFER to play racing games on PC if I had the money to get a fancy wheel, pedals, and a shifter, but I don't, so console seems like the best alternative (although I have no problems with NFS Shift and GRID on PC, it just feels clunky). There's only one way to play FPS and RTS games though - with a keyboard and mouse.

Absolutely agree. My passion used to be fighting games. I even played SF4 with X-Arcade on the PC, but consoles still seem to be where it's at.

I'm very biased. I could give a crap about racing and sports games. Platformers should've died in the in early 90s. RPGs and FPSs is where the meat is. Cosolization of these generas? *PUKE* Although if they can continue to get it right like Mass Effect and Dragon Age, I won't be such a hater.

Heh, I'm the numbbuts who's always waited for every GTA port to PC. GTA4 aside, it was worth the wait every time.

Both Stalker games on steam this weekend = 9.99

The look on your face when you pay 59.99 for a 360/ps3 game = priceless.

how is this better on a console when you can use a Xbox360 controller for PC, and play it in full 1080p instead of 720p at a full 60frames+ on a HTPC vs Xbox / PS3 which only broadcasts at 30fps?

And yes theres a big difference between 30 and 60fps.

Sorry, HTPC gamebox wins in this area as well.

You know what amazes me?
The only people to say consoles are better then PC's are the one's who dont have great PC's, or those who dont know how to setup a great HTPC gamebox.

There is no way in hell a console will ever come close to a PC and a good dedicated videocard.
Never... because the console can not do anything higher then 720p @ 30 fps.
Vs. a PC, which is limited to the range of your video card.

But something like a HD5850 would smash any console's video port any day of the week, while on power saving mode even to boot.

And i am migrating to either stereo3d or eyefiniti.. those are something which u will never find on a console... NEVER.

You've been out of touch . . . the copy protection has gotten much worse.

Bio Shock, Mass Effect, Spore, Ubisoft . . .

Limited installs, Internet connection required to install/play Single Player Offline games.

Yeah, you've missed all kinds of fun.

Aigo - not every console game is available on the PC. It's really that simple.

Call me old-fashioned, but I rather like busting out my SNES to play older games and also to play games on the Wii with other people. You can't easily replicate that on the PC. Game emulators are OK, but its a heck of a lot easier (and sometimes more satisfying) to plug-and-play.

I love PC gaming, and have been an avid PC gamer for 25 years, but some things a console does better. Although not a huge fan of sports games, they are great on a console. HTPCs are nice, but they don't replace a console either. Plus, for those people who like to play on PSN or XBL with their friends, a HTPC doesn't help this.

Although not complex, a HTPC setup to do all that a PS3 can do for example, is generally more than $300 and more than what "average joes" want to do. It's soemwhat sad, but true. A PS3 is really to setup and use; HTPCs are not always so for those not computer-savy.

Wow, you're a genius. If you actually read my post, you realize I'm against both idiotic sides posting on the topic. Then again, with your brilliance, you probably already knew that.

Nice try at trying to play it off but it's clearly obvious in your post that you didn't bother reading the OP.

What health concerns are there from playing WoW? Last time I checked, the same that come with any other game (eye strain, maybe some wrist problems?).

Oh, you mean you weren't smart enough to get off your fat ass and do a little running or put down the junk food? Of course that was Blizzard's fault, not your own... I love how most of the people I know who play WoW aren't unfit at all. In fact, I just stopped playing WoW recently (this month) and I work out at least 5 times a week.

Didn't Starcraft 2 retail for $59.99?

Just sayin'...

I've never understood the elitism on either "side". I just go where the games are. Win/win for me.

Well, I was, (and still am) an xbox gamer, but I'm in the process of building a gaming PC.
I was right there with you up until a couple months back. I finally got sick and tired of the (general) level of immaturity on LIVE.

So I finally bit the bullet and built a gaming pc. And I haven't looked back at the 360 since. I can't believe there was this much of a difference. Games on the pc just blow their console counterparts right out of the water. Well, for most of the games anyhow. I have come across a couple console-2-pc ports that were just terrible.

I'm still in awe with the better graphics alone. Not to mention that being mainly a fps player the ease of the kb/m. Although I was semi use to using the kb/m as on my 360 I used an XIM360 adapter.

Now pc gaming has got me by the b@lls. I'm hooked. I'm running 3:1 monitors using an XFX hd 5870 with Eyefinity. Having the panoramic view is awesome.

And I'm still upgrading. Although my setup is only 2 months old, I've already ordered 2- 480's to replace my 5870 and I'm selling my 3- Samsung P2450's and buying 3 of the new Acer 24" 3D lcds. I'm a self admitted graphics whore now.

It is completely out of the realm of possibility for me to have a PC worth gaming as well as an Xbox360, PS3, and a 46" HDTV. Therefore, I have to be elitist and choose only one. Or graduate from high school and get a decent job.
