PC Gaming vs Console Gaming...

You're kidding, right? I was just playing Radiant Silvergun on my Saturn and on Stage 5 the game chugs on one of the bosses. Even fucking Super Mario World chugs occasionally.

The mods that come out for PC games will keep PC games alive. Also RTS, good luck playing a RTS with a gamepad, it is all sorts of fail. I wish more platformers came out on the PC, I just use my rewired xbox controller for platformers and emulators.

Random idea, if video cards came with gamepads...... That would expand the use of PC gaming out side of RTS, FPS (a lot of noobs think joysticks are better for FPS...), and MMORPG.

If console gaming overtakes PC gaming I think it will be because of Nvidia's desire to bypass the x86 license.

I don't know very much about GPUs but doesn't Nvidia's upcoming Fermi GPU aka "GT300" have a lot of general computing functions in it? If so wouldn't it only be a matter of time before the GPU can run everything on a console?

In this way they might be able to get a pre-emptive jump on the more mainstream companies as far as launching titles for the next generation consoles. Crytek Crysis engine (which I know nothing about) seems like something that may already work on a next generation Xbox 360.

Yep...We have to believe microsoft will try to design general purpose consoles that not only play games but surf the web, etc.

If they can incorporate more functions into the console format.....higher prices may be more justifiable.
