Pc graphics suck

the reason why xbox 360 games are better looking, is because everyone has the same hardware, its possible to make the best looking game that will run on all of them. with pc's everyone has different capabilities, and thus you wont find the best possible graphics in the games

i.e. nba live for xbox 360 is totally different than the PC version. im guessing the same thing for call of duty 3 which they aren't even releasing on PC

Before finally upgrading from a 1ghz Celeron I've been nothing but a hardcore console gamer. I've played just about every platform and loved it to death. Part of the reason I was so attached is that investing in a $300-600 system you know that you and everyone else you're going to be playing with are on an equal level playing feild; no advantages or disadvantages graphic-wise for anyone.

Granted, I just recently upgraded my PC and it won't be up and running completely until this Saturday so I'm not sure what kind of graphics I'm going to be able to pump out I'm sure it's going to be on par with the XBox 360; possibly even slightly better. I'm hoping that once my new computer is running that I will get a taste of what PC gaming is like because the whole console scene is fun, but it appears as if PC gaming has more to offer.

Overall the Xbox 360 is obviously a great buy but jumping in somewhere and taking such a strong stand between PC or console is just stupid. Both sides of their valid points and that's not going to change anytime soon.

Great, another console vs PC debate. Seriously, why must people always debate this? PCs and console really provide two different gaming experiences. And why all the focus on graphics? We all know the Wii will own both and have the worst graphics of them all

I beg to differ but that's likely because I've never really been a fan of Nintendo. Thing is I'm 18 and they make games that would satisfy someone who's probably about 6 years younger than me, or more.

I mean, their games are fun but the same recycled Nintendo franchise crap (like Mario Tennis, Pool, blah blah) are just getting old. The Wii does look promising and I'm likely going to be buying one given it's price and how interesting it looks but will it compare to the Xbox 360 in my opinion? Unlikely.

I could not agree with you more. Everywhere I go, whether it's a forum (PC or Xbox related), Xbox Live, and even sometimes with friends of mine this debate is always brought up. It's essentially like comparing oranges and apples - now how much sense does that make?

Don't want to add fuel to the fire, but has anyone added in the cost of the TV to be ABLE to look better than a PC? <$700 + $150 monitor will probably beat the $400 Xbox + $500+ TV? I doubt my 15 year old Sony 20" CRT will be able to pump it out. Yes I'm pulling numbers out of my a**, but when you get down to it, they cost about the same. However, the former can do other things than game, LOTS of other things.

That being said, current generation mid range to high end PC video cards with modern games have graphics look quite a bit better than X box 360.
Obviously, there is a lot more then just graphics to a game, otherwise consoles would have all disappeared decades ago and PC gaming would dominate the scene. People care about cost, learning curve, "play with their friends" abillity, "play sitting on the couch" abillity, and the like.

PC's dominate in some areas (graphics, controls, abillity to mod, online play), Consoles are good at other things (sitting on the couch play, cheaper, don't need multiple systems to get multiplayer going, etc.)

And don't say but console blablabla supports 1080P, because my monitor is higher resolution than 1080p (1920x1200 vs 1920x1080). Of course there are more polygons and bigger textures in PC games too, but that doesn't seem to be the hyped up thing to talk about today.
