Got Halo for $9.99 and Tron 2.0 for $14.99. As expected, Halo runs pretty slow on my P4 2.53 system with a Radeon 9500 Pro. I know there are some web sites out there that say how to optimize settings so the game runs better -- anyone recall what these sites are?

Get an XBOX.

Without joking, I wouldn't even pay $9.99 for that POS. A POS isn't worth anything at all no less $9.99.

I tried my local CC for Halo but no luck. Cashier said that he saw a bunch go out over the weekend for $9.99 I did pick up MOH Spearhead and BF 1942 Road to Rome for $4.99 each. Everything else was pretty much picked over already.

Thanks for the heads up tho!

It *was* listed for $9.99. It said save $40.
Now it says save $20. and price is $29.99.

Congrats on those that got it. The halo deal is dead.

Yes, it's free online play.

As far as I know, The only PC games that charge for online play are those massive multiplayer games with persistant worlds going on.
As well as EA Sports games after a period of time.

halo doesnt.... if you dont have a recent PC ... 1 year or so... i wouldnt bother with halo, its gonna run terrible... try the demo first to see

while I agree it is not the best optimized game around, I was still able to run it at 1280x1024 with everythign on high and had a few slow downs but the game was playable all the way through. This is a fun game and well worth 9.99. It's sad they got rid of the coop play and that later in the game they got lazy on the level design so they just made you go through the same earlier levels with more enemies, but the game is very atmospheric and sucks you in.

co op is for console, it doesn't belong on pc. If you aren't sitting next to one of your friends odds are you are playing with some random person on the internet who is going to be an ass 99% of the time and not work together with you and takes all the good items and health. Comapines are not going to waste their money for co op on pc, no point to it.

Universal Combat was $15 online last night.
It's $20 today
Can anyone offer a critique of this game?

Thanks

Blood Rayne $15 now back to $20.
Home World 2 $15 now $20.
Empires: Dawn of the Modern World $20 now $25.

It seems that anything I was considering getting is at least $5 more today than it was last night.
$5 more kills the deal for me on most if not all of them.
My car is getting fixed.
I can't even get there until tomorrow.

Sold out at the one on Lancaster in Salem, OR, but cool CSR (Desi) called down to Springfield and had them hold their last one for me.

I don't know if they do it everywhere, but a local Electronics Boutique (Gateway Mall, Springfield, OR) was willing to PM CC. Picked up 2 more there (one for my dad, one for my sister).

Does EB usually pricematch? I was psyched 'cause they had more in stock.

Eugene, OR., & dad's in Tampa, & sis is in the sticks in Mo. at some army base. On-line multi-player gaming rules for forcing us to keep in touch. Yeah, our Ping time sucks, but we don't bog down public servers using mine...

I think EB will only PM if the store with the item on sale still has some in stock. From what I recall, they did not PM any internet offers.

Update - checked with EB and they will only PM other game stores (e.g. GameStop, Babbages etc.)

that makes no sense to say that coop isn't for the PC, one of my roommates games with me sometime and we have been digging everywhere to find good coop games that we can play together, we just got Sacred, but it blows chunks IMO so I will not be playing it with him, if Halo had coop we would have gladly both paid and played the game together, coop can never hurt a game, if anything, it only adds replayability because there is just something fun about going through a game with your friend, or family members, or whoever. While you might not like coop on pc and have evidently had some bitter experiences or something, bear in mind that there are others that do have friends and 2 computers (and no consoles) that would really appreciate coop play and would like more companies to grasp onto this fact.

If co-op for PC doesn't make it, how come Diablo 2 is one of the biggest selling games of all time, and still regularly gets 40,000 players at a time on US East in the evenings (the lowest I've ever seen it is 5,000 players at any time).

I love co-op games. I wish more developers made them.
