PC hanging at the POST = Mobo problem?

My build had been working well for the past few months. It's now hanging at the ASUS motherboard splash screen that says "Republic of Gamers" with the logo... and the "Press F2 or DEL to enter setup"

Is this definitely a Motherboard issue? Meaning it's obviously got power, but it's not getting past the motherboard POST, so it can't be components. Right or no?

Maybe the power supply? Everything seems to be powered ok. Other fans go on, LEDs etc. It boots to that screen and just hangs.

The motherboard is an ASUS Strix z270E:

Does the BIOS, once you hit F2, show the SSD in the BIOS?

I'm wondering if your boot drive got hosed somehow.

No it just hangs there. Pressing F2 or anything wont get me to the BIOS. Hmm unless the keyboard isn't being read I guess. But it's not even making it to the set up. I guess I could try another keyboard just to be sure that's not it. But if the SSD got trashed I'd still be able to hit the BIOS right?

I'm guessing this is a Mobo issue, but wanted to be sure I wasn't missing anything obvious haha

Unplug the SSD and see if anything changes. If that doesn't do It, continue unplugging things (From USB devices down to extra stick of RAM) to see if you can get to a state that it will boot past the point you are at now.

Minimum config. Only what's needed to post, go from there.

Hey guys thanks very much! I'm POSTing from it now (see what I did there?)

I pulled all the USBs, and reseated the video card (just because). It POSTed to Windows. Then I plugged in all the USBs, video and sound connectors and I'm up.

Still kind of concerned, never had that happen before that a full boot down and unplug didn't fix. Maybe it was a one off?

Any of those devices could be the culprit, and could happen again. usually you can narrow it down with trial and error.
