Pc hooked to lcd tv via hdmi

I want to hook my pc to my lcd via hdmi so I can play game at 1080p. How can I get sound? I guess sound is supposed to run through hdmi cable but my vid card doesnt put out sound.

Would the only way be to have speakers hooked to pc, instead of running to tv. I do not yet have seperate speakers. Just using tv sound.

You could run the sound to a home stereo system as well. Depending what sound card you have you could probably do all the high end fancy stuff too. Otherwise a set of computer speakers should do you fine
