ASUS A7N8X-X, ASUS radeon 9600SE video card, AMD Barton 2500, 1 GIG ram, Seagate 80 gig HD.

You'll be working on the PC then all of a sudden it just reboots on it's own. It boot right back up and everything works normal. I just build this system a couple weeks ago. I'm thinking powersuppy or something? All my fans are working ok. Any ideas?

Overclocking?

Check the win2k/XP event viewer for problems.

I'd say either power supply, board, or settings. I'd check your settings first. And stop overclocking as your first start. What's the heat like? Have you looked at your CPU lately? I was having problems once.. turned out it was a burnt black CPU that still had a little left in her.

I am sure it could be any one of several things... for me it was a driver. I reinstalled the OS and no longer install items that announce that their driver has not been approved by Chariman Bill. So far my system is running just fine. But if it barfs again, I will suspect my mouse driver.... go figure.

I'm running 2000 Pro
Not over clocking.
How do I look at the event viewer?
Which settings do i need to check? If i just let it sit there and run, it does ok, but when I start running a pretty big graphics program if does it. usually about 5 minutes into the program. thanks for the quick replies.

Check the cables for the power button and reset button, make sure they aren't frayed from anywhere. (Yes that is possible, it has happened, was an older case though). Second, what power supply do you have and how many watts?

Use programs like speedfan to monitor the voltages and see if they fluctuate or are too low/high (+-5%). I would also use memtest86 to test the memory for errors. Also try running the memory at slower timings

For me the problem was memory - I had a couple of cheap sticks, replaced by a single (also cheap) stick that is much more stable. You might want to run MemTest.
