What if an AZ cop suspects one of the students and arrests them? Will they have their 'papers'
You think a stink is raised now, what I suggested could happen is very possible. And if an AZ citizen thinks one of the students is illegal and doesn't think a cop is doing their job, they can go after the cop.
It's a good idea, but a stupid, shitty law

Exactly. The school is just doing the responsible thing and not taking a chance. Can you imagine if one of the kids gets arrested and then has to sit in jail while their immigration status is getting sorted out? Then the school is going to be under fire from parents for allowing this to happen.

Yeah, and a meteorite could plunge from the sky, hit the school bus, and kill all the kids. The school is doing the responsible thing keeping them home.

Wow, you're a genius. If the rest of Californians are like you, no wonder the state is circling the drain.

Of COURSE you don't move there and become the superintendent the next day just because you moved there! You don't suppose someone from out of state could be hired and move there to take a superintendent position, now do you?

You won't answer the question because you know that if you tell the truth, it will show you as a hypocrite. We get that and your dancing and dodging confirms it.

Hired by whom? School board that we elect? Noone here is going to elect a school board that would hire a right wing whacko superintendent. Period, and if they did, they'd all be thrown out and he would get fired by the new board. We have some of the best public schools in the country here, for a reason.

Whatever. You keep diverting but you obviously won't answer the question and we all know why -- you're a hypocrite.

How is it possible??? according to the OP, none of the players on the team are illegal immigrants, so they have nothing to worry about...

If they are flying from IL to AZ, they will have to have their 'papers' to get on the flight...

AZ Police by law are allowed to do this. Going to AZ does not increase chance of getting hit by meteorite, it does increase chance of getting detained by police and harassed over immigration status/papers. The school is absolutely right to assume that if AZ passes a law, AZ police is going to enforce that law. That is their job.

Because the school board works for them and it has no legitimate reason other than it's fiction and as has been said to enter needs to go through the school.

I know you are a huge troll, and you really don't care if the government fucks your kids, but not everyone is a Government fundamentalist like you.

But since you want to lock up doctors who choose would rather violate a badly worded regulation than let them die we understand.

Government fundamentalist? I love it!

I am SO stealing that!

Actually the school cited safety concerns and not aligning with values.

Safety concerns partly fueled the decision, but the trip also "would not be aligned with our beliefs and values," said District 113 Assistant Superintendent Suzan Hebson.

What does not taking a chance getting arrested have to due with safety concerns and beliefs and values?

Where does it say that the school assumes this? Or where they were worried about students getting arrested?

Uh, you do know AZ police can only ask for papers if the person is stopped for another reason. Right? I mean, Boo FREAKING Hoo -- you might get asked to prove you're here legally if stopped! The HORROR!

Damn it, you guys are so incredibly dense. You act like the AZ cops are hiding behind billboards at their state lines and pouncing on anyone who comes along. You act like they'll all get thrown in jail with only bread and water. Get real.

I have a better idea. Let's just send anyone deemed illegal to live you with and your bleeding heart brothers in California.

According to the OP, the school has sent children to China on a field trips before....

So they are okay with China's values of human treatment??? what a bunch of fvctards...

You don't have to have immigration papers to get on a domestic flight. Secondly, while they may not have to worry about getting convicted, they do have to worry about getting detained by some backwood AZ cops while their immigration status is getting resolved, and that is a traumatic experience that no one, much less school children, should risk being exposed to.

Which is why the school and senseamp are full of shit. That they favor illegal immigration is the only conclusion that can be drawn.

No, but you are subjected to being frisked by security guards and having your belongings searched. Funny how you don't seem to have an issue with that though.

That is right, and when you pose different scenarios to them, they intentionally dodge the question because they know it will expose their hypocrisy. Senseamp has never seen a problem he didn't want the government to solve, but living in the People's Republic of California, I don't suppose that is surprising.

And if one of those "children" was driving a car in chicago and didn't have a license they could be "detained and arrested as well". Nice try.

Our best interest is to give Arizona back to Mexico along with Texas and California.

Then of course make the border strong from there not the swiss cheese that exists now.

Too bad you won't be there, since by then you'll have moved to Somalia. Right?

OK, so bus goes 70 in a 65, now everyone is getting papers checked, and at discretion of the cop, if he doesn't find them to his satisfaction, getting detained. No thanks. By passing this law, AZ has created a legal risk for visitors, you can argue about how significant that risk is, but that is going to deter tourism and business travel to AZ. Deal with it.

Driving a car, not being a passenger on a tour bus going to a baseball game.

They aren't but if we decide we want to elect some, it's our call.

Unless the schoolboard says you can't of course. You must obey your leaders.

BTW, if you didn't want to send the daughter you hopefully never have, you could always keep her home. That of course isn't enough for you because you want everyone to be subject to you whims.

Have you noticed I never once used "liberal" in this discussion? I rarely do. The reason is that I have people who consider themselves liberals. and some conservatives and while we may not always agree they are reasonable people. That's one side of the dividing line. On the other are those who would lock up US citizens without Constitutional rights given, and of course, you.

The overarching similarity is that you both believe that government ought to be the master, it's just the subject you differ on.

The category you fall into isn't Rep or Dem or Con or Lib, it's Totalitarian Shill.

Now you can continue to advocate your Fundamentalist Religion of the State, which would be fine, but like Fundamentalist Islamacists you want to force it on everyone. Christians pale in comparison to your fervor. They might want you to convert, but generally the thought of doing so compulsively doesn't occur to them.

Then there are your peers, which are those who insist that the government force Biblical Creationism in public schools. You twins in the mirror.

Fortunately you are in the eccentric minority like the above loonies. It's rather sad that you won't get it, but if you could you'd disabuse your tendencies to force others to follow your beliefs.

I know it's never happening.

It will deter tourism and business travel from knee jerk reactionaries such as yourself. Of that, I have zero doubt.
