PC keeps re-booting Help!!!!!

This PC is on a Novell network. When you turn it on, it goes through its normal things. When you login to novel it runs the scripts fine. Just before it gets to do the things in the startup folder it re-boots. It will do this 4 or 5 times before it will actually be stable.

I have tried to remove the things in the strartup folder, bypassing Novel (hitting Esc), booting with the network cable unplugged, I've checked the power on switch and all its connections. It is also using IBM Client Access (connects you to AS400's). That software contain a app called Version Checker that is placed in the Startup folder, I removed that from the startup folder and the regestry.


I am running out of ideas here, if any one has any ideas please respond.

Um...need more detail.

What OS are you running? Processor? Age of machine? etc

Sounds like a memory violation of some type. OS would be nice to know, a list of hardware would also help.

It is a Hewlet Packard Vectra VL
Has a Penteum 233, 64 Mb EDO RAM
2Gb HDD
Mabey 3 or 4 years old
Running Windows 95
Sorry for the lack of detail.
I think it has a 200 watt power supply

you check all the connections inside? there isnt anything hitting the computer right? It could be the RAM, or the HD... some type of hardware prob. Maybe the PS isnt sufficient enough.

Yeah all the connections are fine. The computer doesn't have any outside periferal connected to it. (printers,scanners, ext..) Its just really strange. I'll check the RAM and the PS. Thanks for responding.

When did this problem start happening? Have you tried safe boots? I believe you can also do step-by-step confirmed boots in 95 also (don't recall right now)

One of netork admins said that it had something to do with the persons login script.
Its fixed now but thank you very much for the ideas.
