Two options then, between those two heatsinks:

Hyper 212 Plus: Mount the fan on the back of the heatsink, being sure to reattach the clips so the fan is pulling rather than pushing. I tested this with in my PC and saw ~3C increase in temps, so no real problem if you aren't overclocking. 80mm wide.

Zalman CNPS 5X: No modifications. It should work just fine. 64mm wide.

Of course, you can always choose another heatsink. I am just recommending those based on experience (212 Plus) and price (CNPS). That Zalman is a great price for a very respectable heatsink that isn't intended for overclocking. Either one will see close to 20C drop from the stock heatsink.

lol okay. btw what do you think of that video card I'm thinking of getting soon. You think 560 is not worth it or should i get a more newer model?

I think the 560 TI is a fine card, but at that price you can do better. I recently nabbed one for the step-daughter for (US) $156+tax, but that was a clearance deal.

One of the best bang-for-the-buck cards right now is the Radeon HD 6950, and it performs comparably to the 560 TI in most games. It also has 2GB RAM and is cheaper than the 560 TI. NCIX has one right now for $199 after $30 rebate.

For a few dollars more, you could get the HD 7850 which performs on-par with the 6950 in most games, but uses less power overall. NCIX has that card for $219 after $30 rebate.

If you're dead set on Nvidia, though, grab the 570 instead for $229 after $20 rebate. It's significantly faster than the 560 TI in most games.

EDIT>> The 7850 overclocks very well, which puts it ahead of the 570 while still using less power. At stock, the 570 will actually use ~100 Watts more than the 7850 under load.

EDIT 2 >> Anandtech's 7850 review overclocking performance. Handily beats the 560 TI and 570.

Just installed my heat sink. So far temps are at 35c in idle and about 48-50c when running games or emulation. I had to face the fan towards the back fan. I hope that is the correct placement so the heat sink fan is blowing the air out and the back fan is sucking out as well. They are literally a few inches away from each other

Reading the instructions it says i can add another fan on the other side, but it's a matter of finding a fan that will be thin and not him my ram.

I will report again if i still get lock-ups. Thanks for your help.

Great results so far! Thanks for the update!

EDIT>> I will say, though, temp still seems a bit high. May be a problem with your case cooling somehow, but at least you are stable now. A second (slim) fan may help a little more. Example

it is still considered high?

Is this fan better than the one you linked me to?

http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=67371&vpn=SY1212SL12H&manufacture=Scythe

Yeah, temps are still a bit high. Here is one example where that CPU is overclocked to 4.5GHz and here is one stock but with an EVO. The overclocked example is basically the same temps as you are getting stock. The EVO should only be ~5C better than the Plus, yet you are ~26C higher. Another example from these forums with 65C max.

The biggest difference between the fans is noise. The one I linked is 1600 RPM 28.8DB 38CFM. The one you linked has the wrong info in the description and is actually 2000 RPM 37 dBA 45.47 CFM. If you can tolerate the noise (your PSU or GPU may be louder) then get the faster fan.

Oh i see. Is there a way to tell if my CPU was OC'd. It is reporting 3.5ghz instead of 3.4ghz in the BIOS and during BOOT-UP. I know my CPU was the Unlocked one but i have no idea. Could this maybe be why?

In the BIOS you can see what the settings are, but if you haven't overclocked it yourself then it most likely isn't overclocked.

Yeah i guess i am paranoid that it was, and perhaps it maybe the cause. Over all the temps seem to be decent when playing games compared to before. There hasn't been much over-load or spin-ups like before.

Yes, the CPU fan and rear case fan (OUT) should be blowing the same direction. The front and side fans should be blowing IN.

Yeah they were re-installed LOL!
I actually had to remove the side panel fan because for some reason it was very noisy there, so i put it at the front and it's silent there.

EDIT:
I just installed a 2nd fan, so now there are 2 fans on the heat sink. The only problem is the power source is not the small 4-pin it's like the larger IDE power sockets. I believe this means the fan cannot adjust it's speed to go faster/slower on load?
I reversed all the other fans to blow air IN and here are the new results.

AnonymouseUser, I just get an error message during my BOOT up. It says my CPU fan is going at 573rpm which is below the 600rpm thresh hold. Is this normal?

I wouldn't say it's normal, no, but it's also not really a problem. If you can in the BIOS, set the minimum threshold lower, or tell the motherboard to ignore that sensor. Mine did the same, and they do this because the fans are lower RPM than stock.

I thought these things were supposed to throttle, why did it lock up at high temperature?
