PC Power & Cooling PSU's

I want to get a nice premium power supply from PC Power & Cooling and I am in no rush to buy one. I want to know, so my purchase isn't obsolete within a year, if there are any new connectors or standards coming out for the clawhammer or anything like that in the near future.

I don't believe there will be any new power connectors anytime soon, but I can't really be sure

As far as the PCP&C units go. I just got their silencer 400 ATX, although I have yet to try. Just by looking at it and feeling the weight, it appears to be a very well built ps.

I'll post a follow up when I have it installed and running for a couple days.

I haven't heard of anything either.

Good choice on the PCP&C. I have a 425W Turbo Cool and a 275W Silencer and love them both, although the Turbo Cool is a bit loud. The Silencer, on the other hand, is barely audible.

they are the best in the business and no i think ATX will be around for a while since i have not heard anything about new standards

Are there many different or proprietary connectors on dual mobo's? I may be looking at going dual processor AMD or Intel, I do not know yet. Also why do you think that the highest the dual cpu psu's only go to 475 Watts while the ATX ones go up to 600 Watts? I also see that you can get your psu customised for an extra charge any of these connectors worth getting added to the psu? I also assume that pc power & cooling dont have new models each year, they just have a standard and then build them would this be correct.

I was initially going to get Enermax PSU but after seeing the 5V problem manifest itself over a year or so i won't be doing that.

Just a small point.... I was looking up PP&C power supplies on AMD's site, and the 350W and 425W Turbo cools, are good to go all the way up to Athlon XP 2000+, but for some reason the silencer 400W is only good to Athlon XP 1900+, but not the 2000+... I'm not sure why... Maybe they just haven't gotten around to testing it on the Silencer yet....

I imagine your correct. I'm sure the Silencer 400 ATX is more then enough power for the XP2000 and beyond. Probably just hasn't been tested yet.
