First please notice my setup is in my sig. Second, I do not plan on going sli or xfire with either psu. I DO really like the dual gpu's on one card though. Which psu do you think is better to use? I am a huge supporter of PC P&C but is this difference big enough to give BFG the nod here?

Which psu is best for my system? I like the total watts rating of the BFG and it's higher efficiency, but I do wonder if the PC P&C unit is really the better psu. The links are to the exact psu's in question. Thanks for your opinion guys.

I'll paraphrase here what I just posted on HardOCP as a reply to this same thread you started over there last night:

1. You don't need the 800W if you're not doing SLI/Crossfire and the 510 is currently working fine in your machine.

on the other hand....

2. You can probably get more money for the PC Power. It's generally a much more expensive unit and PC Power is a more recognized brand.

All you have to do is look at typical resale prices:

BFG is $109.99 w/o rebates at Buy.com. $79.99 after: http://www.buy.com/prod/bfg-te...loc/101/204696870.html

Cheapest price I could find on the PC Power 510W from a reputable dealer was $179: http://www.eastluna.com/hardwa...ails.php?id=0518&id2=b

I drive a Hyundai and I'm happy with it. But if I had a spare Ferrari sitting in the garage I wasn't using... I might decide to sell it.

Granted, I don't have much hardware running in my rig right now but I have two 8800GT's in sli and even under max load w/all fan's on high I'm not pushing above 240w. So, I second jonnyGURU's mention in his #1 item. (hardware in sig).

If money isn't the issue and you just want the better psu to run no more than 500w then keep the PC Power.
If money is an issue then selling the PC Power has the potential to net a better return; as jonny suggests.
