PC/RAM Issues

I'm having an issue where the BIOs only sees 4GB of my 8GB of Ram and windows says 8GB (3.97 usable). This BIOs does show that both sticks are detected but only says 4GB total. The ram sticks are not bad as I tested them in another PC an they ran fine. I have tried clearing CMOS and resetting the BIOs to no prevail. Could some one please help me figure this out.

I'm unfamiliar with UEFI mobos. But that is my first suspect: there may be a setting that isn't correct in the BIOS.

Second: your memory isn't fully compatible with this mobo. You might just have to run in single channel, or get different RAM.

Which leads me to: the memory-compat issue might be solved with a BIOS update. A BIOS update can work wonders.

Another option is to invoke MemOK! In fact, I would try this first...it's the easiest thing to do. Then update the BIOS if that doesn't help.

Make sure there is no dust in the slots, and that they DIMMs are correctly seated.

Test all possible configurations:
dual channel slot A
dual channel slot B
single channel 1
single channel 2
A1 B2
A2 B1
and again with the DIMMs swapped.

report your findings.

It can't be a compatiabilty issues as RAM was working fine for months now.

Blew them out with a can of compressed air

Tried that to no prevail




Just incase i didnt mention this the board does infact detect both sticks in any slot just when in dual channel slots it reports 4GB total system memory instead of 8GB
