PC Speakers

Can anyone suggest good speakers? I've been looking at Diamond Audio's S2/4100 which they have on sale for $199 ([url]http://www.diamondaudio.com/promedia/prod_frameset.html)[/url] but it's a 2.1 and I'm not sure if I need surround sound. I use them mainly for music. Any suggestions?

The only way you will be happy is to go somewhere to listen to the speakers before you buy them. What would sound great to me may be too scratchy or tinny to someone else. It will be your ears that have to listen to them.

If you are looking for a 5.1 system, try Creative's desktop theater 5.1 DTT2500 Digital 5.1 speaker system. You can find them at stores and cost around $196.00. But I'm thinking about getting the system to use with my DVD player.

Unless you're into gaming, the S2/4100's are great. I have them and outstanding buy for $199.
Music is never played live in a surround setting so the stereo setup is perfect. And there were no compromises made in order to provide surround sound.
Not saying they are perfect, but don't think that there is anything in a powered music speaker setup that can come near them for the price.
The only thing you need to watch if you get them is the subwoofer placement. Seem to be a little "boomy" if placed right in a corner.

Klispch are good, what I do think is better is the Videologic range, they should be appearing even more in the USA very soon.

I've seen Best Buy put a 5 piece Boston Acoustic speaker system on clearance for $120. It's a pretty nice sounding system for the $$.
