Hmm Trust looks interesting, except where would I buy one? Also are there any wheels that have complete gear shift boxes ?

Thanks

They pretty much ran out of ideas for them. there is a lack of innovation

I currently own and highly recommend the logitech driving force pro. Have a look at it on the logitech site. It is built for ps2, but works awesome on the pc. I currently use it for Live For Speed, a racing simulator in which I also highly recommend. The wheel supports force feedback and 900 degrees of rotation. All you need to get it working on pc is the latest wingman drivers from logitech, available on their site. Selecting 900 degree mode only requires a sequence of buttons to be pressed. PM me for more infor if necessary.

Thanks for the responses guys.

I live in Toronto, Canada. I thought trust might be european, they looked like they produced a high quality product. Slim I was looking at the PS2 wheel from logitech and it looked wicked. How does it work with the PC? Is it 2 way compatible? Do I need special drivers or something? Sounds interesting, let me know man.

Does anyone know of any steering wheels that come with a shifter that you can actually shift through gears? That would be pretty cool

Haha BW, I dunno about actual gear gear ones, but at least something like they got in the arcades, the 4-6 speed shifter, like the sega rally arcade has that would be awesome.

Btw off topic, but does anyone have a copy of mobil 1 railly championship? I dident buy that game when it came out like 6 years ago or so, but I did manage to play the demo and it's the best rally simulator I ever played. Graphics may be a little dated, but still a very good game. Anyone know any new good rally sims? The microsoft one and colin mcrae arent that good, don't like the physics too much, not that realistic.

Thanks

The wheel is plug and play compatible with both the computer and playstation 2, however to adjust force feedback on the pc you need the wingman drivers. These are readily available. I live in about 45 minutes from toronto, they carry the wheels at local future shops and at best buy. You can find it regualr 199.99 or same price bundled with a game like underground 2 sometimes. I just downloaded a new sim called rFactor, which is in development as well. But the force feedback is top notch on the wheel. As for the shifters, I would try ebay for an act labs gated shifter. You can but different 'plates' that can change it from a 4 speed to 6 and even 3 i believe. Definately worth a look, thats what i am aiming for. As for now I use my old sidewinder wheels pedals in live for speed as a clutch. MUCH fun!

Link to a previous thread on race controllers. Check out that ECCI Trackstar model, no lack of innovation there.

My cousin has the driving force model from logitech, however, I dont think the buttons are very well positioned, I have had the original thrustmaster non-force feedback, then logitech wingman FF with pedals & now have the best!!!Logitech Momo Racing with the stick shift and have to tell ya it is the bomb matey....The best wheel feel ie grip, best button position, best force feedback and some very good pedals with carpet thingy to stop it shifting around. If you want the best currently avaiable, this is it, I have only had it a week & cant get over how cool it is to use the stick shift to crash down the gears in the corners, wahooo!

Live for Speed is one of my favorite sims, but its a sim, not an arcade game, so expect a pretty steep learning curve.

for wheels here is a link on building your own:
http://www.monmouth.com/~lw4750/index.html

depending on how motivated and handy you are there are several options for shifters.

if you want to build your own:
http://hem.bredband.net/lowgren/
http://www.massey.ac.nz/~jcmarsha/Wheel/
http://www.volny.cz/michaljanak/hshift/myhshifter.html
http://www.cc.jyu.fi/~ttsiikan/shifter/
http://www.bulletweb.de/

another shifter option is from FrexGP, they also have upgrade kits for MS sidewinders.

http://www.frex.com/vr/

then you can get started on building your own 3 pedal kit later...lol

This is the only one I know of. Some year when I have a few hundred bucks I can't find a home for I'll probably try one...

EDIT: Ugh, just looked back and they apparently have bagged the whole product set. If only someone like Logitech with the name and ins with the retail stores would build something similar!

Yeah, the Logitech Driving Force Pro is an incredible wheel. Haven't tried it on my computer though...
