So I have a choice between these 2 setups

Xbox 360

vs

E6300
X800GTO
1GB Ram (Will upgrade when prices decrease)

I will mostly be playing on a 17" PC monitor and a standard 32" TV (X?box 360 will be connected to both). I will be renting a apartment near work and will live there during the weekdays. The PC will remain at my home for the weekends.

Xbox 360 is more portable and I will be able to take it to my apartment if I need it there. The PC on the otherhand is upgradable and I will miss playing RTSs on an Xbox360.

I can get both for a relatively similar price. I already have a macbook for browsing/email/word pricessing etc.

Lol.

Bascially you only get time in weekends, thats what you're saying?

What about online games, will you be willing to get x-box live and stuff?

No tikloos, I might be getting a flat near work since its so far away and come back home on Friday/Saturday. I don't really get time on weekdays, but an occasional frag is fine

Dunno about online games...Back here, theve created a MAN for Xbox so we really don't need to subscribe to that M$ BS!

I would also hook it up to a 17" (and maybe later to a bigger LCD). But your point is valid. Is the xbox 360 the same on a standard 32" As an xbox?

wait for dx10 cards - by then, ram and cpu prices should have dropped and you can get a dx10 card which *should* pwn current gen cards

i have a 360. the games that are out right now, imo, are not that great at all. the only games worth mentioning are call of duty, project gotham racing 3, fight night round 3, table tennis!!!!!!!, and maybe oblivion if ur into that. otherwise, no good games will be out for a while....which makes me sad. other than that, the 360 itself is fun, and some of the arcade games u can download, such as geometry wars, are much better than the 60 dollar games.

Why would you need a computer with a Conroe, but not a good graphic card?
It doesn't seem like you will come anywhere near to taking advantage of the Conroe chip.

So I have to say 360.

Becuase I had an AGP rig which I sold. I can exhange my 6800GT for Connect 3D X800GTO (Modable 50% Chance to XT PE).

The last PC games I liked were Far Cry and Dawn of War. The PC library is as boring as the X360 I'd say if not more. Im looking forward to the new Dawn of War expansion, CNC and crysis though.

Well if you go with a Premium Xbox 360 and buy a game or 2 your out around $500ish after taxes. You can get a C2D 6300,ECS mobo,1gb DDR and a 7600GT for the same price. The 7600GT will be faster than the x800GTO even with it modded.

If your running a decent system already I would just pass on both and wait for a likely price drop this holiday(maybe).
