pc will not enter windows or install windows

my pc will not enter windows. everytime u start it up it goes to the screen where you can
start windows normally
start in safemode
or last know config

no matter which option you pick it will just reboot and take you to the same screen. so i then tried reinstalling windows, and it always fails during the first min, before it even ask you anything. so im guessing a hardware failure. either mb, ram, or cpu..but dunno. any ideas?

edit, it does not make any beeps or list any errors during bootup.

I wouldnt think motherboard or cpu. That sounds like either the hard drive, RAM. . .heck, who knows, I've seen PSU's do some crazy things. When stuff like this happens in my system, the last place I look is at the CPU and Mobo, then again, I've had a bad mobo before that did what you have described.

well, i hit f8 and disabled automactic reboot on failure......now when it starts xp pro it it blue screens with "page fault in non paged area".

after shuting automactic reboot off i was able to enter safemode....i tried doing a restore, but its having problems once it reboots out of safemode and trys to enter normal windows.....just shows starting xp screen, then reboots.

Try booting from the XP disk and selecting the repair function.

ok, i just removed everything besides the needed componets, and still same thing. i even tried ram from another pc and still same thing. i unpluged the hard drive and tried reinstalling windows seeing if it would go any farther, but still crashes randomly. i would like to point out though, now that everything is unpluged i am able to enter windows, but i see the desktop for 5 secs and then it reboots.

can this be the ps?? i hear a very small "hiss" coming from the PS. i unpluged all the fans and held the ps fan, and i can still hear the noise so i know its not the fan.
