PC won't boot

Upgraded to a radeon x700 and since I started using HDTV out my pc became unstable withs spontaneous reboots. Did a a rollback, then there would be display corruption of the MSI welcome screen and it would hang a couple of times, not completing the boot process.
Pulled the x700 and put in a 9600xt display corruption solved but now on booting up it cannot find the boot drive. I've opened up the case and the sata drive is hooked up to the mobo and the power supply is connected.
Is this a hard drive or motherboard problem?
System specs are
Athlon 64 3200 s754
MSI K8T Neo FISR2
Mushkin value memory 1 gb
Seagate Sata drive primary
Seagate sata drive secondary
Antec 400w power supply

try disconnecting the 2ndary drive and plugging the primary into it's slot. Then swap it back if the doesn't boot.

Not sure what you're facing....try clearing the NV ram too.....hmm...that might not even be possible on that board.

Done that already, only sees one sata drive.

Try flashing your bios. MSI is known to have problems with their mobo bios'. The mobo in my sig is dead cpz of bios issues, got myself an ASRock Dual-Sata2 instead. Which reminds me, I ought to change my sig....

i had a similar problem with regards to my sata2 hard drive and msi mobo.... i just could not flash the mobo bios... in the end i nearly threw the darn thing out the window... but its working now.. after 2 hours of messing about.... grr at msi!

btw, are msi the market leaders in mobo?
