pc100 and pc133 ram

I have a question, I don't know whether or not my system uses pc100 or pc133 ram and I can't find out either. If I just buy pc133 ram, will it be compatible no matter what? Thank you!

some mobo won't take 133. See what mobo you have.

Most mobo's should be able to take 133 ram and let it run at 100. So if you are not sure, get pc133 and you SHOULD be covered.

the thing is, my comp is in a diff country, and i wanna buy ram in the states. So if i buy a stick of 256 pc100, will it work with a pc133 motherboard? Also, will I notice a considerable difference in performance IF my motherboard is pc133?

If you buy pc100 you will have to overclock your ram if you own a pc133 mobo. This may not work. But then again it could work. Best bet would till be pc133.
