Anyone who had problems running in dual mode update your Bios? I think the 865 based chipsets required a Bios update to run correctly with most modules.

I think these sticks rocks..Got a couple of MATCHING sticks at local bestbuy on sunday.
Key word here is matching. I check the 4 sticks still on shelf and find out 3 of them has
same batch and reversion number (A02) while the lone one has different batch number
and reversion number (A01), I think it's important to get idential module with identical
chips (even better if they have the same production week) when running dual channel.

I got mine to run at Dual Channel DDR420 speed with 2-3-2-5-4 (3 is RAS to CAS) on my
P4P800 with bios set to 2.65v, and I can run DDR430 speed with same setting if I set
the voltage to 2.75v, and at 2.85v I can run my system stable at DDR440 with the same
setting.

Update: I just flashed to the 3609 bios for my 8RDA+ and now I can run in dual channel mode. I also lowered the DIMM voltage from 2.63 to 2.5.

What chips does the Kingston HyperX actually use and is it as good as Corsair modules since Kingston is supposed to be good, their Value Ram is the more crappy stuff. Also, which number are you reading for the batch number? The chip number or the number on the sticker?

This a pretty good deal, esp for the PC3500 512 MB and 256 MB sticks. The great thing about buying these retail at BB is that you can select modules where the lot numbers and revisions are identical. I got to my local BB this morning and found 2 004.A02 sticks with identical lot numbers!

When ordering modules online, there is no guarantee you'll get matching modules unless you order a special dual channel kit (at a premium price of course).

Even if you aren't going to use them in a dual channel configuration, you should get matched modules if possible so you can move to that kind of configuration later.

Many of the problems people are reporting are due to use of unmatched modules. Even the voltages can be different - my 004.A02's are 2.5V devices, but the 025.A00's I saw were 2.6V...

Good luck, they only seemed to have a few modules in stock, and they run out quickly.

This PC2700 is on sale again this week. I bought one on the way home. Will this work on Epox 8RDA+ along with Crucial PC2700 that I bought earlier? Both are 512MB. I heard someone said "matching is crucial." Does "matching" mean "matching brand" or "matching chips?" Both Crucial and Kingston have MT -6T chips, 8 on each side.

QUESTION:

Why does BB show TWO different prices for the HyperX 512MB PC3500 sticks?? Besides the already mentioned price of $119.99 before rebate, they also have "another" listing for what appears (at least to me) to be the very same stick of RAM for, get this, $144.99!!!!

Here are the two "differing" links to what appear to be the very same thing. Of course, I will purchase from the cheaper one...but anyone have an explanation for this??

I went through SIX HyperX PC3500 modules and NONE of them work at stock speed with stock voltage, that sucks. Have to return them all.

I just thought I would add something to this post that makes it almost uber-hot. Some of the Kingston PC2700 ram I got for $35 uses Winbond BH-6 chips!! If you check around on the net you will see that most of this stuff does over 200MHZ!! Be on the lookout!!
